Organisers of the Notting Hill Carnival, or any fooking carnival, that refer to it as `carnival' instead of THE carnival.

And likewise, political party members who attend their party's annual conference and say things like `I shall be speaking to conference this afternoon'.

Fook off!

Petty thieving gardeners who decided to steal the seed heads from my giant poppy display over a number of days. Everyone in the neighbourhood who has a poppy display next year (a certain rare version) will be getting a visit. mad

Almost the opposite: Commentators who refer to Pit Lane instead of THE pit lane

Not heard that one yet, but when I do, I ain't gonna be happy.

I shall announce to Conference that we shall meet in pit lane before going to carnival.

Ben Edwards does it on the F1 commentary - like nails down a blackboard!

TV Ad based annoyances...

First - Film advert release dates.

Where has the fascination come for the voice over to pronounce the release dates as "May Twenty One" or "July Seventeen"? Why is "Twenty First of May" or "Seventeenth of July" no longer part of the English language?

Second - Ad Music

Adverts where the ad producers are so presumptuous that they think the ad music is so great, they add a little line at the beginning to inform you of who it might be just on the off chance that you want to buy the utter st ad music from the Trivago ad...

or,

Where ad music lyrics are just completely and utterly indecipherable mutterings - Seat Ibiza Toca advert springs to mind.

Yes. I've heard a film as being in Cinemas from March One.

Is that the ad where the boy is playing with his 'space toy' and Dad (or pedo?) arrives in his new Seat - with LED's!!! - thus persuading boy to ditch the 'space toy' to go for a ride?

Because a Seat family car is just so exciting compared to the imaginings of a boy with a space travel fixation...much. Such advert tttery I find annoying beyond reason.

Today, the first time I have ever posted in the "Things that annoy you beyond reason...?" thread.

PH itself. Some of the users on here in specific. There seems to be a never ending increase in people who jsut troll around for the upheaval of long running threads or wanting to start an argument for arguments sake. Quite frankly it's fking dull. My PH card is getting close to being sent back.

Kids are off school. Bored kids like to wind people up. Or frustrated dads taking it out keyboard warrior style instead of shouting at the kids maybe? wink

Mine today is - People who cut you up whilst walking about. this little prick (probably late teens) in a shopping centre earlier saw me coming, at my fairly brisk pace and stepped out into my path, and fking dawdled in front of me at about 0.5mph!!!
I know he new what he had done as he looked over his shoulder at me before stepping out to block my overtake!!? What the fk!!?? I did think it was a pickpocket gang as he peeled off from a group of 4 lads. and with him obviously blocking me I suspected an attempt at my phone/wallet. but not the case. I think he just wanted to be a little cock for sts and giggles with his mates. rolleyes
I knew there was a reason I try to avoid Cardiff City Centre during school holidays!

Yep seen that. Seems an increasing number of people that rather than be helpful or encourage seem to want to put people down.

Its like driving a nice car and someone calling you a wker.

Have we had this one?
People who refer to "Concorde" which implies there was only ever one built, instead of "a Concorde"

Am I being stupid?
I had always assumed that that was only when referring to Concorde in plural as the s in Concordes would be silent.
