Underclass? Did you really just say that? Do you really think there is an underclass?

What a monumental knob

I think you overstepped the mark there.

Of course there is. Underclass, Lumpenproletariat, Bogen, call it whatever you like. It still exists.

Which 'mark' have i apparently overstepped and why are you hurling abuse at me in this thread over the use of one simple word? What the hell is your problem?

You do know this is the United (or rather Un United) Kingdom, where everyone now is supposed to be treated equal with Human rights, Minority groups are allowed to have there say over the silent majority rolleyes And places like PistonHeads now have to be politically correct, Dare you speak out about those who come in under lorries or hiding in the back of them, bless em, or those that use and Aluminium and plywood mobile box as a home and leave there crap all over the place. Or the many illegal workers hiding in garages or stables which have been turned into illegal dwellings, Sorry PH But of course there is an Underclass and there has been ever since Victorian times.
Even in the USA when the pioneers started making their way west the Chinese were used to build the railroads and were considered underclass and cheap labour with railroad bosses giving no consideration to their safety using Nitro to blow rocks apart getting through the Rocky Mountains.

Look at our own history of Public transport, not that long ago you had 1st class, 2nd class and 3rd class on Trains, and what about flights, First class, Business Class,Club Class, Economy.

Sorry but a Class system still exists!

Absolutely. yes

The elite is roughly 6% of the population, middle-class is about 31%, the rest of the population is working-class (47%) and underclass (16%).

Stating that there is an Underclass is not offensive, it's a fact.

Why are so offended, Cotty? Are you or your family regular customers of payday loan companies?

The underclass exists all right. It's the mainstay of my income - takeaway food. Can't cook, won't cook.

We're always busy on "benefits day", and when child benefit is paid. B***er buying the kids new clothes, let's have some cans and a Chinese.

Animals.(But animals with money, so I can't really complain).

No! nono They are not lazy, feckless wasters with a sense of entitlement; they are disenfranchised members of the community, the oppressed, the downtrodden.

She's actually not far off the original, which translates as 'dead hand' wink

Just sounds so weird how she says it.
Probably because I am forced to go and visit her on a Sunday when all I want to do is lie on the sofa and cabbage out,she winds me up so much.
Oh the mort-gauge rate will be going up soon, you two had better be careful.
I said it will only make a tiny difference on the amount of money we pay,it is the people that owe hundreds of thousands that it will hurt.
We are on a fixed rate anyway, (she mumbles) 'well just be careful'.
We are on a fixed rate,(mumbles something else just to get the last word in).
Didn't hear it as I was putting my coat on half way out the door.

When someone (normally a woman) has a baby, people say stuff like "it's a girl!" or "it's a boy!" with a degree of surprise. I have no children, but understand that there are only 2 options. It's not like christmas where it could be a girl, or a boy or a Dr Who boxed set.

The unreliability of the windows 'search' function.

I've searched a folder for a specific document using keywords that I know a document contains, it says "no documents found". I then find the document, go into it, and find the term I was searching for.
It also seems to return results that don't contain what I'm looking for (I open the document, do a cntrl + f and it doesn't find it)

A basic text search might be finding your search string within the formatting information or other non-viewable stuff. So you might get a result for "Arial" even though it doesn't appear anywhere in the text of your document.

On the one hand you might think the search function would be more clever than that, on the other you might actually want to find a document just based on the fact you know you used an oddball font in it.

hehe

Then they go 'oh he/she/it is soooooo cute'. No it looks like every other sodding baby, just the size & colour vary a bit.
