In fog the whole point of foglights is to avoid being blinded by the glare from your own headlights reflected back from the fog, so yes, in foggy conditions, sidelights and fogs is the best way of seeing where you are going
Eh? Why isn't the light from the fog lights reflected back at you then? Isn't it just light, same as from the dipped beam? Why does one reflect and not the other? I thought fog lights were just extra bright lights to help others see you coming sooner, because dipped beams are directed away from other traffic for normal conditions and are therefore less visible in fog to other road users.

Fog lights provide a low-mounted light source to illuminate the road surface in front of your car. By illuminating the road surface in a low, wide fan in front of your car, the light doesn't shine directly at the precipitation -- rain, mist droplets or snowflakes -- in front of your car and reflect back into your eyes.

Have a look at the beam pattern of foglights - it is a wide fan shape with a sharp cutoff at the top to minimise the amount of light scattered back towards the driver's eyes

The above should be taught in driving lessons and tested on the test so we don't have to endure so many fog-light-wkers.

I think if you used them in your test it would be deemed as a fail; something along the lines of innapropriate use of vehicle lighting.

You are also up against this: "but ferg lights look cool bruv, make da car look more agressive innit"

Only 2 things annoy me: Pride in one's country and religion.

Never understood why individuals are automatically biased to one camp just because it's something their country has done/produced. While it's easy to point the finger and say "Oh the Americans and French are the culprits for this"; the English are far, far worse. The image of this country is that of the beer-gutted yob on benefits (or a paedophile). That's nothing to be proud of. We also have a higher percentage of dheads per 100 people than anywhere else.

As a species we're evolved enough and intelligent enough to know that there are no true fairy tales, so why people insist on pressing on others that there is some all-powerful being(s) looking over them, is beyond me. You make your own path in life or you go nowhere. And you die alone and then rot with no second chances, what's hard to understand about that?

Why do they annoy me? Because they're not things that anyone can simply ignore, there's always a tt wherever you are pressing their misguided idiocy upon others, or shouting about it in public places.

Even more so is when the coming-up bit shows you the finished car/house/whatever on a restoration programme. What's the point in doing that?

We are tribal animals. Tribalism exhibits itself in many different ways - politics, nationalism, religion, football teams, even car fanbois (just look at PH). But I would agree that tribal allegiances can be very annoying.

I'm not sure we have a higher percentage of dheads than anywhere else. If you live in a country, you notice them a lost more. I've been plenty of places that seem to have a higher dhead quotient.

"Bæ/bae is a Danish word for poop. Also used by people on the internet who think it means baby, sweetie etc. "

I am proud of my country.

I am proud of the tolerance we show to people of varying beliefs.

There are equally as many tts pressing their belief that there is nothing to believe in, often shouting louder than those in pulpits.

thought I knew most of these inane phrases, but Italian Flag Technique is a new one. Care to explain?
I wish I could...a day in the office and a quick scour of Google and I'm none the wiser. I made a point of asking what either of them meant and promptly told not to ask stupid questions... "a lot of people of put a lot of time and effort into this and it won't helped by you asking questions about something that is already complicated".

How about writing in English then so we can all understand then?

I concur. 100%. There`s nothing more stupid than some daft thinking he or she is better than someone else just they happened to be born on the other side of a line on a map. That, incidentally they had no fking choice in the matter in the first place.
Religion needs no explanation. How it`s even entertained in 2014 is fking beyond me.
