It's a new fan - It's on it's third (I think that's just to shut me up though). Internal have seen it many times and state that "they all do that sir". Having spoken to a few people... They all do. I suspect a bad build and something sitting on the CPU as it's never truly idle - it always runs at 15%. And let's not even talk about Firefox which eats memory.

Makes me even more annoyed that this POS i5 replaced my top of the range i7 tablet which was "unsupported" - That i7 tablet. Where is it now? With a senior manager in Lahn-Dan somewhere.

Not everyone likes your furry little st machines and to someone who has genuine fear of the animals it can't be fun to have one plodding towards you with a nonchalent owner who lets it invade your personal space.

But she see's me in the distance walking towards her (next to the field) & he is always on the lead.
Why should I change my route just because she is scared of dogs? Can't she go a different way?
& the fact that he has absolutely no interest in going near anyone or anything would suggest that he isn't about to rip her throat out.

In that case get it doing something that loads the CPU and leave it on top of a radiator until it overheats and fails, then demand a new one - repeat until they give you a better spec one

Go into BIOS on startup, every laptop I've ever seen has an option for 'fan always on when AC is connected'.

Ignore this if it does it on battery.

It's an irrational fear though. That's why its annoying/laughable.

My other half really doesn't like most dogs approaching her either. I just take the piss. Especially as some are deemed 'nice' and petted on rare occasions.

She's scared of Geese and man-eating Swans too.
