Solicitors and the law fraternity in general - just because of the hourly rates they feel justified to ask for.

We were using one recently and they charge £360/hour

How the fking fk can they justify that amount? I'll tell you why; because they know that they have your balls and they will squeeze them. They also know that your alternatives are more of the same robbing fkstaffs.

People who live in inappropriate houses.

I live on a lane which is very narrow in places & there is a right mix of houses, some brand new & some 400 years old. About 50 yards from me is a row of what I think you'd call "town houses" - basically it's 4 big terraced houses from the late 1800s. They have small front gardens, but no offroad parking and because the houses are higher than the road, there is no scope for any parking.

So why the fk would a family with at least 5 fking cars buy one of them? Mother has a Shogun, Dad a Mercedes. 2 girls each with a Clio and a lad with a Cherokee. All parked all over the bd place - in front of everybody else's houses, up on the pavements, double parking etc. Why not get somewhere to live where you can all park, or simply tell your kids to fk off and move out?

I've had a Clio parked right outside my house on the pavement all weekend & it's that tight to my garden wall nobody can now walk on the pavement so they have to walk in the road.

Irritating smad

I hope you reported the bad parking To your local PCSO (or posted them in the bad parking thread)...

On topic. The cost of artificial Christmas trees - £200! What the juddering fk?

Brigg Garden centre - it's the worst type of shopping hell you've ever seen before Christmas, add in Christmas and all its tatty tasteless stty displays and £8 per child Santa visits... I went yesterday and the inner rage to the increasing levels of Christmas commercialised hell was difficult to suppress.

Christmas - Is it over yet? Spending time with people you don't really want to see, spending vast amount on food, the inflated cost of everything, the adverts, Christmas songs (which we'll hear more from today).... Not my favourite time of year. The kids will love it and that makes up for it, but I'm a real misery this time of year...

"Nothing we can do sir - it's not against the law". Tried in the past with another idiot neighbour and got nowhere.

One of the reasons it annoys me is people walking past assume it's me that's parking on the pavement as it's right outside my house. I feel sorry for my neighbour over the road though - she's an HGV driver working nights and gets back about 6am & often has nowhere to park.

Obstructing a footpath isn't against the law? I had a proper talking to by a PC. Not just a PCSO a few years back.....

Many dog walkers in my vacinity leave a recently filled poo bag on the verges or hanging on a tree.(think about it), with the intention of retrieving them on the way back home.
Oh, is that the reason? I see these from time to time, and just assumed that the dog walker was either too stupid to realise that there's no point bagging it if you're not going to take it to the bin, or was just deliberately leaving it for someone else. There was a bag of it left on our gatepost the other week, it had gone by the time I got back from the pub so maybe it was just left temporarily.

Im a Dog owner and I find the hanging of these bags appalling, many people who walk dogs sometimes change the route they walk back home so this line that they are left there for their return does not wash with me rage

Bag it and put it in a bin. I've cleared up a few of these bags that have been left hanging on trees for weeks on end frown

Apparently not always. There are rules in place for some areas (especially in London), but for pretty much everywhere else if there aren't restrictions then the law is full of "should" and "could" etc. So it's not black & white which means 99% of the time in a normal residential street the Police aren't really interested.

fking bargain if you're getting the information and advice you need! For work I've spent a fortune on legal opinions in 1 country in the last couple of months.... and they're racking up into the hundreds of thousands now!
I'm not standing up for the lawyers concerned, but it's the lawyer that's earning the money for the firm, and needing paralegal and secretarial support, plus facilities, etc., which all adds up...., so I'm told. wink

On the subject of dog poo in bags left hanging up, I think that only happens in the UK. In Paris they leave the dogst on the street, because that's so much better wink
Where I live, and there are an incredible amount of dogs/dog owners, there are dog poo bag dispensers on lamp posts and plenty of bins to put the bags in. Leaving the bags tied to posts/trees is fking disgusting.

Good call - However, curry isn't considered a "proper meal" here - I grew up on it, but the girlfriend grew up on roast dinners... Bah

Unfortunately these scams work on people of a certain generation and who know nothing about computers and perhaps a little mad… that’ll be my mum then.

She wasn’t scammed but it took a lot of convincing by me that it was a scam.
She was telling me at how she was going to be helped by someone to fix the computer; her printer has never worked properly. I asked how? She said someone rang and said she had a problem with her computer, she responded ‘yes, I do have a problem with my computer’. So she was asked to sit by her computer and they would call back. She was doing this when I called her.

I asked her ‘how do you think that they know your PC has a problem?’

Mum ‘They said they can see my computer online and can see the problems’

Me ‘but mum, you don’t have any internet connection’

Mum ‘Well they said they can see my PC’

Me ‘They can’t, you are not plugged into the internet, you don’t have a service they want your money, it’s a scam’

Mum, ‘Is it?’…

This went on for some time and she still wasn’t convinced of my story…
