I'm a lorry driver and I normally deliver in the countryside or towns with minimal dual carriageway/ motorway driving. However recently as my route has changed I am doing mainly motorway driving.

One thing that really, really winds me up is drivers who cannot maintain a certain speed.

So for example I am doing 56 mph on cruise, I catch up to a car that is doing 54 or 55 mph. I begin the overtake and what seems to happen is either:

The car driver then wakes up and speeds off leaving me looking like a pillock in lane 2.

The car waits until their bonnet is level with the rear of my lorry before speeding up and undertaking.

The car speeds up to match my exact speed whilst I am alongside them and WILL NOT back down.

For fks sake either go faster than me, or slower than me. It's not fking difficult. fkity fkity fk.
you couldn't just slow down by 1 or 2 mph?
No because when you do that 15 seconds later you're having to slow down even more because they can't maintain a set speed, so you ease off some more, then you're down at 45mph and going down through the box and they're still fking about with whatever it is they're fking about with - usually their phone. So you pull out to overtake and then they wake up like Dougy says.

Why should he?
that kinda sums up a lot of what's wrong on the roads

"why should I slow down by 1mph, when I can overtake a car over the next ten minutes... everyone else can slow down"
or
"why should I avoid crashing into this CRV and caravan when I have right of way"

etc
Your first point is misdirected, it should be directed at the driver causing the problem, not the one who is reacting to it.

You second point is nonsense. Kinda sums a lot of what's wrong with this forum.

over reacting to it, 1 mph less is not a massive problem

and as for misdirected, I'm talking to the driver who's posted, not the guy who hasn't posted

no, you point is nonsense wink

it's the whole selfish attitude "he's to blame, so I'm absolved of all responsibility - don't blame me guv"

people make mistakes, you don't have to expand them and make them worse

original problem: car going slighty slow in one lane
solution: 2 vehicles going slow in 2 lanes?

original problem: car pushing in lanes
solution: smash into it, waste a days work and block a major junction

as for the problem with this forum, telling people they are talking nonsense is maybe one of them
as that how you talk with mates down the pub? maybe it is, I dunno

Go on, I'll bite. Why?

The reason I ask, is my Mum can't do cold milk, it makes her sick. But heated up and she's fine.

How does it make her sick? Physical or mental cause?

hugo is the only one talking about crashing cars more or less deliberately, but he's putting it forward as a legitimate response to something someone else has said, which makes it nonsense.

I note that his only complaints are complaints about other people's complaints. Doesn't seem to have any of his own. I suspect that's because he doesn't want anyone to take him up on them smile

The cause, no idea. Been the same ever since she was a kid though, had to have her milk heated up at school and everything. Oh and physically sick, not a pretty sight!

Robin Oakapple - You're making a bit of a prat of yourself on this thread by being needlessly argumentative.

Takes two to make an argument.

Still, it's all getting a bit heated, so let's get back to the harmless banter.

Replacement TV (exchanging the one that broke after 8 days) was supposed to be delivered today but they sent it to the wrong depot and can't deliver it until next week (where like most people I'm at work during the day). So it would have spent more time broken than actually working

Yes, but you're the only one making a dick of himself as per usual, something you seem quite accomplished at.
