Things that annoy you beyond reason...? [Vol 3]
Discussion
When the media report scientists as being 'baffled' by something, like the following today....
"New pictures of the dwarf planet Ceres have revealed its mysterious white spots in even greater detail. The glowing spots have been baffling both astronomers and scientists who are hoping to get a closer look in the coming months."
They aren't baffled - they have a number of possible scenarios which explain the phenomena, they are simply awaiting more data to confirm which theory is correct

Renewable energy naysayers.
Renewable energy is bks. I live in chelveston and we have the 9 of the largest Wind turbines in the UK and between them they generate just about enough power annually to feed the borough of Wellingborough which is around 25,000 households inclusive. So every borough and large town would need a huge wind farm to power it. It's alright for the people who don't live next to these fu@king things, no pollution that's bullsh!t for a start aside from the obvious visual pollution there is noise pollution, worse at night the fu@king things kick out so much noise it sounds like a jet aeroplane in the distance that never gets to you, light flicker, stty television reception and when up close to them they have quite a lot of marks on them from I assume the myriad bird strikes, house devaluation. Before anyone says anything I'm not a townie moving to the countryside and complaining. I have always lived locally and rural and I was here before those things. THINGS THAT ANNOY ME tree huggers that love these things but don't have to live with them NIMBY's matchmaker said:

People who drink carbonated water - pretentious fkers. They don't even enjoy it, they just drink it to try and impress their peers.
I congratulate you on interviewing every single person who drinks carbonated water as to their reasons, motivation, and whether or not they enjoy drinking it. Presumably you'll be passing on the results of this monumentally extensive market survey to the likes of Perrier so they can shut up shop and find something else to sell?
(Personally I don't like fizzy water, but I don't object to people who do)
Mind you there are some complete knobbers out there when it comes to bottled water. I once heard a woman in Tesco berating her husband for putting a bottle of Tesco Perthshire Mountain Spring water in the trolley. "No dear, don't get that, it's horrible. Get Highland Spring instead".
IT'S THE SAME fkING WATER. IT COMES FROM THE SAME fkING SOURCE AND IS BOTTLED IN THE SAME fkING FACTORY. EVEN THE fkING BOTTLES ARE IDENTICAL APART FROM THE fkING LABELS!

I have never fell for this bottled water sh!t. Why buy something that has been bottled straight from the ground, transported from god knows where, put in a plastic bottle which IMO makes the water taste and then you carry it around with you occasionally taking sips from a bottle of lukewarm water. Get a grip and get a drink from a tap and stop being so far up yourselves. For anyone who says they would never drink tap water I assume from that that you never have tea or coffee at anywhere other than home and that you never drink pop or beer.
I can't stand the taste of the tap water where I live and prefer to drink bottled water. I *can* taste the difference, I prefer to drink bottled water, and it's my choice to do so. Maybe *you* need to "get a grip and ... stop being so far up yourself" that you feel that you can dictate to other people. I'm happy to put tap water in the kettle and use it in tea and coffee though, because you can't taste the tap water that way and using bottled would be a waste.

I drink tap and Bottled water but the above got me thinking. Have you ever seen the inside of an old buried water main? We regularly dig them out and some are only half the diameter they originally were because they are all clogged up with silty / hard mineral deposits. All different colours - It looks like when you see sewers full of fat but it's firmer.

Have you seen the lakes the water comes from, fish st in them.Puts you off tap water a bit
I worked for a spring water company based in the Chiltern Hills about 15 years ago. We supplied the big water dispensers for offices and 500, 1 and 2l bottles.
They had a big issue with contamination because the bore pipes (that sucked up the spring water) were old and not deep enough. Plus the animal sewerage from the working farm it was located at kept leaking into the water and was picked up by the in-house testers who constantly "adjusted" the readings so we could keep pumping!
I never touched a drop if it.
It was shut down after I left by the EA or sitting then sold to a larger company.

It annoys me that you should be so annoyed by someone else being annoyed by something that doesn't affect you.Presumably you'll be passing on the results of this monumentally extensive market survey to the likes of Perrier so they can shut up shop and find something else to sell?
