Given the time of year with farm machinery on the roads the morons who are physically unable to contemplate overtaking under any circumstances, you know the scenario, straight A-road, clear day, line of 10 cars following a tractor because the prat at the front of the line feels somehow unable to overtake a tractor doing about 15mph, often idiot N2 won't risk overtaking 2 vehicles even if they are going 15, then after that no one will overtake.

I genuinely think there are drivers out there who have never performed an overtaking manoeuvre. Probably the same ones who can't reverse, or park.
It is amazing how many people sit in slow moving traffic down this section of the A30 near Penzance when there is plenty of space to make a 3rd lane. Used it to good effect when down there last biggrin

When I was doing my Bikesafe course, the trafpol told us this was a cardinal sin and you would get a certain ticketing.
So it's not something I have ever did since, even on the bike.
Why would you get a ticket? Here's another similar:

A907 between Alloa & Stirling.
They were specifically talking about the by pass round Stirling, they considered it driving without due care and attention.
Perhaps they've had to pick up the remnants of accidents caused by people doing it, they reckon you should only overtake on a single carriageway road when there is no oncoming traffic.
Which is much safer when you think about it.

They in fact put up "no overtaking" signs on the stretch of road you mean, but these disappeared after a few months.

It is of course safer no to overtake at all, but if you get stuck (on the road I linked to) behind one of the many muppets who drives along it at 40mph in perfect driving conditions, it's very tempting to pass them!

fking spam e-mails, like....

"Dear , Thank You! Here's your first daily email!

Dear ,Why do you receive this letter? The only reason is you are the VIP customer in our Ebay Store. After the well improvement and preparation, znu.com is officially put into operation now!We sincerely invite you and your friends come and have a fresh new shopping experience in ZNU. "

Nope, never fking bought anything off you, never fking even heard of you !

And I didn't delete my name, the message arrived like that with a gap where a name should be.

For some reason one of my e-mail addresses has become the target of spam and phishing messages - up to 20 a day at present frown
I started getting them. I put it down to buying something off a Chinese seller who must have sold my email address on.

Three Internet. My internet connection (3 mobile broadband) has been down since Monday, when I phoned "support" on Wednesday they told me it was "scheduled maintenance", couldn't explain why they didn't warn me in advance, and made up some rubbish about when it would be working again just to get me off the phone. Finally back today. Not sure who annoys me most - them for being rubbish, or me for not switching to something else.

Oh, and just to rub it in, a targeted advert on another forum this morning - "Swap to the worlds most reliable network" - you guessed in, Three.

Disney's ability to spin all manner of merchandise out of the air - as if there isn't enough st being pedalled by that bullst organisation: My daughter, recently, wanted some "Palace Pets" - pets that the Disney Princesses "have" - thankfully this has come from birthday gift vouchers, but at some point, I'll be pestered in to buying more of these stty things.

And I've seen adverts for dolls that are of Cinderella's daughter - Ashlynn Ella.

Seriously? Come the fk on....

I try my damndest to avoid commercial TV and adverts as much as possible for this reason.

Lego. She can have lego. Not the disney st or the other much pedalled film link in crap, but Lego. She has Lego Friends stuff too - overpriced crap that it is.

O2

I was travelling in Switzerland in the most major business centres. My phone would not get mobile data for 80% of the time. This renders the modern smartphone almost redundant - no email, navigation, CRM connectivity. For a road warrior it is a serious embuggeration.

I called O2

Recorded message: "Why don't you try our online chat?" - Grrr!!!

Actual person (after holding for ten minutes): "Reset network settings - that will DEFINITELY sort it out" - this did nothing but turn off my phone and mess up a whole bunch of other things (like losing my home wifi password when I got back to the UK)

Another actual person (after holding for another ten minutes): "You did 'reset network settings'? There is nothing else we can do"

Payphones. It's the future. They'll still be standing there with smashed glass and reeking of piss, long after we've all got bored with gadgets.

Are the ones in the West End still plastered with business cards from young ladies offering 'relief'?

The thin end of the wedge was when the handset memory expanded beyond ten numbers imho.

Today I am annoyed by my hands getting cold 'cos I'm sat at the keyboard tippy-tapping rather than doing manual labour. It's >20 deg C in here but still my hands are chilly. Bo-hoo me.
