Things that annoy you beyond reason...? [Vol 3]
Discussion
Try Paypal for the ultimate in non-existent customer service. I have called them just before they close at 9 on a Saturday evening - "Unfortunately we are experiencing unusually high levels of calls at this present time", I have tried calling them when they open at 9am on a sunday - "Unfortunately we are experiencing unusually high levels of calls at this present time", in fact call them at any time and you will get "Unfortunately we are experiencing unusually high levels of calls at this present time".
I called them a couple of Sundays ago in the afternoon and left the phone on speaker with my daughter as she did her homework. I went outside, cut the grass, swept the patio, put the bins out and came back in, guess what..."Unfortunately we are experiencing unusually high levels of calls at this present time".
I gave up trying after that and have still yet to speak to them.

Trying to call the Driving Standards Agency customer care line.
Coming up to 20min and all I get is a very annoying 'Thank for calling......' message every 15 seconds.
Well past a joke now and I'm running out of time. I really need to contact them, so guess I'm in for another marathon wait tomorrow. Not to mention paying for the non call too. Coming up to 20min and all I get is a very annoying 'Thank for calling......' message every 15 seconds.

absolutely ste organisation. How they can make such a pigs ear of such a simple concept is beyond me. Deaf s, if the first thing out of your mouth when someone says something to you is "EH?" then get a fking hearing aid.
Not everyone with hearing loss can benefit from a hearing aid. They are like glasses for people with vision problems - useful if you have reduced vision but useless if you are blind.Regards

Hard of listening, not hard of hearing colonel c said:
Indeed. I have some mid range hearing loss. Not enough to warrant a hearing aide apparently. However I often find it hard to hear what people say. Especially in any kind of noisy environment. Saying "eh" not only make people speak with more celerity it also seems to encourage an improvement in their diction too.
If you find yourself a trifle deaf, then be sure to check your ears for jelly, custard and pieces of sponge. HTH.

So just highlight the text, go to Format Text and select lowercase or sentance case, saves re-typing it Cotty said:

I'm not totally deaf just completely deaf in one ear. If someone speaks to me on my deaf side or says something when they are facing away from me or speaks with something covering their mouth when there is other noise around (so I can't lip read) then I can't understand them. No hearing aid will help me. There is nothing I can do but ask them to repeat what they have said.Gassing Station | The Lounge | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
