Lorries that thunder through small villages at 30 mph.

Have a social conscience you thick wker, just because it says 30 doesn't mean it's your minimum speed ffs. In fact ban lorries from all villages and only allow smaller delivery vehicles in.

People that move to villages and moan about the traffic, tractors, cows, crows, mud, suddenly buy a 4x4, hedges, lack of hedges, leafs on the road, lack of broadband, lack of phone signal, snow, ice, dust from machinery, machinery working late, machinery working early, a dead lamb, an ant clearing it's throat in the next county, church bells, bird scarers, crops sprayers, people shooting, pests,

My house has never had a number. It is the manor house in the village and has been around for at least 500 years. I've no idea what number you would/could give it. The nearest neighbouring house is 500m away and doesn't have a number either as far as I know. The neighbours further away might have numbers but might start at 1.
We're not worthy. M'lord.
Oh, don't do yourself down. We have a role for an under-footman: I'm sure you'd be up to the job.
Thank you. I'd like every Tuesday off, use of the family car, an en-suite room, fresh white gloves every day and be able to bring girls back for Ugandan discussions.
Agreed but I have droit de seigneur on the young ladies.
The last time I performed droit de seigneur I had to book an emergency dentist appointment.

The local "news" that comes on at 6.30pm.

You get 30 minutes of national and international news talking about everything from the situation in Syria to HP shedding 30k jobs, Chinese economy collapsing, Australia replacing their PM (again), migrant crisis etc.

Then over to:-

"Coming up later, we visit a man who has grown a potato that looks like Prince William, but first we visit the couple who have won a years supply of cat food and they don't even own a cat!".

Nobody.
fking.
Cares.

Well apart from my Nan, but she's been dead for 2 years. And my mother-in-law who insists on putting it on - probably to annoy me.

The f^&ktards who control the traffic news override switch at local radio stations. I just want the sodding traffic news; when it's over, return me to my radio station of choice. Do not leave me listening to some hyperactive tt who thinks he is being "zany", in the vain hope that I'll suddenly think "hmm, yes, actually I'll retune permanently to Radio Parochial FM".

Steve Wright.

While he was revolutionary in his day, it isn't his day anymore - and hasn't been for a very long time. Yet he still seems to think it's 1985. What the **** is "Serious Jocking"??????

Neighbours who think they can stop you rebuilding a building that falls under permitted development & yet they can build a 2 storey outbuilding without planning permission.

It'll be fun if/when they start that build.

EFA - I forgot to mention them calling the police for 'abusive language' when they got told 'If you think planning rules only apply on our side of the wall then you are an imbecile'.

Having recently tuned into Radio 2, I'd like to add his hopeless inability to listen to others. He constantly cuts gusts and callers off and responds with unrelated questions, demonstrating that he doesn't listen one jot and has pre-planned responses. Incredibly rude.

But then those are good reasons, so I guess I've gone off-topic.

While on Radio. I'd nominate The Listening Project on Radio 4. Utter waste of air time.

I don't understand his popularity, I really don't - I actually prefer Radio 4 to his entire show.

But not commercial radio as that makes me want to rip my radio out and throw it from my car. I hate it: moronic adverts, repetitive songs, bad pop music and irritating DJs...

I'm guessing that in using the word "imbecile" you are already crediting them with more intelligence than you should. Which is mildly ironic given you'd have to be an imbecile not to know what imbecile means.

They probably thought you had insulted their sexual prowess or something.

How it's Made/Megafactories - both have the potential to be interesting programmes but are rendered unwatchable due to seriously annoying and intrusive background "music" - if I wanted to listen to rave/disco music I would download it from iTunes.

You might have a point, they are the sort of person who thinks fitting their guttering to our garage is ok & that we can't pull down the garage before it collapses because they'll have to do the job properly.

I'll risk sticking my head above the parapet...

A personal bugbear is people on the F1 forums who speak in "TV graphics" eg "If HAM does X...", or "when MSC did Y...", "ALO must be getting frustrated...", "VET is getting the better of RAI...".

Why? Just why?

To give the impression that they know that little bit more about the subject than the next man.

See also any thread about air travel in which posters start using airport codes. "Whenever I fly from LHR to HKG..."

Sloppy journalism, especially when it is anything remotely technical...

e.g. Describing a B-52 as a jet fighter rolleyes

Come on - I know your only qualification is in 'media studies' and you know fk all about anything outside your little media bubble, but it doesn't take long to Google something to check it
