People who refer to verbs as "doing words".
Do you mean teachers?
French Teachers. That's the only group of teachers who used those words.
Our English teacher taught that nouns are "naming words", adjectives are "describing words", and verbs are "doing words".
yes

That was my point.

Reading user reviews on Steam. I just read 5 bad reviews for the game StarDrive 2. The playing time from the 5 reviewers is 202, 32, 42, 50 and 147 hours.

I can't believe someone plays a game for that amount hours and then decides they didnt like it. Sound more like they just got bored with it, and who wouldn't after 202 hours? I doubt I've played my favourite games for that long in my pre-Steam gaming heyday.

Now I don't know whether or not I should buy.

James O'brien on LBC, boils my piss everytime he's on the radio rage
I used to like him, as he was a counter to the more right wing voices like Nick Ferrari. But he's increasingly becoming an pompous, arrogant, patronising wker. He resorts to cutting people off who he doesn't agree with!
Oh, and Ian Dale can fk off as well for the same reasons.rolleyes

Always putting stuff off to the last moment...

Just asked OH if she has bought the train tickets for xmas yet, she knows times and dates, blah blah blah.

Nope was the answer.

Wish I had done it myself as the £140 tickets are now going to cost £210 and yet I'm the one at fault as I could have bought them myself, despite her promising to do it...

Ah, the 'well why didn't you do it then' line. Cos that really works doesn't it?

Did you sort out such and such?
Yes
Oh, so did I
Why
Well just in case you didn't.

That conversation's going to end well isn't it?

"Talk to me" Is there any more of a knobbish, pompous and impolite way to begin a conversation? If you want to know something, ask me what it is you want to know and I will help. Inviting me to "Talk to you" about a boat we have for sale doesn't give me much of an idea on where to start. Do you want to know about the condition, engine or whether it has a fridge?

Bob Constanduros's shout of "and now the Champaaaaaaagne" followed by the same bloody music from Carmen played on every podium for every race held over a GP weekend.

Our English teacher taught that nouns are "naming words", adjectives are "describing words", and verbs are "doing words".
Our English teachers didn't do any of that. The only time verbs, nouns etc were ever mentioned was in French lessons. Where the French teachers were very frustrated that we didn't know what they were blathering on about.

Sloppy continuity in films!

Who has seen 'You only live twice'?

The bit where Blofelds space ship is about to gobble up the NASA capsule and start WW3. We the viewer see the action from a separate angle which is fair enough but a few seconds later the same view is on a monitor in the command centre which begs the question...

How can the juddering fk can that be on screen unless Blofeld has a second space ship up there filming the action?
