Some people lack the ability to spell, some people can't be bothered, some people do it deliberately to be annoying.

Correcting any of those three types of people won't achieve anything.

Feel free to correct my spelling, I work at it, but I'm rubbish. I often use spellcheck, but that doesn't help if you've typed the wrong word correctly.
I'm positive that relying on spellcheck has degraded my ability to spell without it
I check everything I write myself, several times. Then bung it through spell check (unless I'm feeling particularly cocky). I'm very happy if it goes through.

An ex-girlfriend of mine told be she couldn't pronounce 'freezing'. She said 'freezening'

Odd thing was, she wrote it like that too.

Made my teeth itch.

Superior academic and linguistic knowledge does not make a superior person, and it should not be used to bash and belittle people.
If one has learning one should wear it lightly.
I would agree, but we're hardly talking about a doctorate in language here. Everyone goes to primary school. I refuse to believe, given its profligacy, that everyone who uses "loose" incorrectly does so through having a learning difficulty, unless you count lazy stupidity as such a condition.

Lose and Loose I can forgive, brought and bought, I cannot.

How does that even happen? Are these idiots also saying it wrong in conversation?

When did lose/loose start to happen? I never noticed this level of idiocy 15 years ago.

You probably didn't have regular communication with anywhere near as many people 15 years ago to see as much of it.

I see brought/bought more often than loose/lose.

Unbelievable.

Bumber seems to be a Northern thing, like dint vs dent.

A colleague from a previous job pronounced Fenchurch (street station) as Fence church.

Trivial but annoying.
