I just got a short shift kit installed on my 130i, but the shifter is now so short it's hidden behind the handbrake lever. What's the fking point.
Well, not that!

Short shift kits are generally to reduce the throw, not to make the stick shorter laugh

Got any pictures of it?
It's the offical BMWP option. It does reduce throw (via a new gear linkage), but also shortens the stick. I admit I mostly got it because it looks cool.

...also, it serves as a continuous reminder of how weak my left arm is.
No it doesn't, it looks ridiculous. Surely you can only hold that with the tips of your fingers, otherwise you'd bang your hand on the surround?

This one is 51 years old.....yikes
Has she led a particularly hard life then? WTF's wrong with 51? I'd got the impression you weren't a spring chicken yourself smile
indeed. Ancient illiterate non-english speaking cleaners need loving too! Besides you can make her do all sorts and threaten her with the sack if she doesn't.

I could see the point of that if your upper / lower arms were at right angles when you shifted but to do that you'd have to set the seat so low that you wouldn't be able to see over the steering wheel properly.

What you need is something like this

I presume people like Demon Tweets have them. Along with deeply sexy nylon gearknobs

I just got into the office this morning and the beans-to-cup coffee machine didn't dispense my coffee properly due to a blockage, so I had to manually use the back-up jar of instant coffee and wait for the kettle to boil and add the milk manually whilst the cleaner fixes the machine.

Haha, I like a short knob as much as anyone (oo-err) but that is just ridiculous. Whoever thought that was a good idea at BMW needs a talking to.

I like a strong coffee in the morning so in the cafe at work I order a small Americano with an extra shot.
Now recently, the guy serving has realised that if I order a large Americano but ask for it in a small cup then it's the same drink but a bit cheaper.
So that's what I now do - "Large Americano in a small cup please".
Unfortunately their till process doesn't allow for a scenario like that so the sale goes through as a large Americano, which then relies on the two baristas to communicate with each other. It's busy so often they don't and I end up with a large Americano. "Oh sorry guv, forgot again today, ha ha, never mind, nice big coffee for you".
I'm too British to stand there and demand the actual drink I wanted.

I've got some new (prescription) sunglasses lenses.

They cost me £240.

It's pissing it down with rain here today so I can't use them frown

i work with a spanish guy who is very particular about his coffee (second only to italians i think). From the work canteen coffee bar he has a double espresso with some milk foam on top, a bit like a large cortado if that's not an oxymoron... basically because they don't have his drink on the menu. Poor bloke has to explain it every single day, to any of the same 3 or 4 "baristas". It takes far longer than it should... he's been working there for 2 years! I've suggested they name it, even if unofficially... Juan-a-ccino or something, but no. The closest he can get is "double special macchiato with extra foam, type thing", and that only works with a couple of the coffee people. Saddening.

I got new glasses recently. Vari focals, light activated tint, blue screen filter, Armani frames. Cost me 500 quid. They're awesome.
But they make my laptop screen bendy.
I do look cool though.

The hire car I got - after someone tried to park in a space my car was already occupying - is not of an equivalent standard.
Despite being the same make, model colour and age, it does not have the tech pack, so has no DAB, LED lights, nav or voice commands.
What's that website that has all the CEO's phone numbers on it?

If I'm going to put my life in jeopardy for some tail, it is going to be for some sweet little 20 year old, not a well worn 50+ cleaner.
