My driver is taking me to the airport, Frankfurt, in a merc and I can see the sat nav screen. He has, however, got a different destination entered in to the sat nav so the map is in the wrong orientation to the way we're travelling & telling him to turn round.

He doesn't speak English so I cant ask him to change it. The only good thing is that the voice is turned off.

I decided to light my wood burning stove this evening whilst sipping some snow grouse (some new fangled marketing ploy to make poor people poorer by believing they are buying quality) ( it was a present btw ) and as I set the fire I thought I would reassure myself the kiln dried rosemary infused oak kindling was suitably dry enough. Fortunately the moisture meter was to hand, but to my utter contempt and disgust the wood was 3.7% wet.
I'm sorry, but this is not good enough, not by a long fking shot.

I consoled myself by drinking half of the above named 'brown spirit' from the freezer, and glared at the 'bog-wood' I didn't light. FML

Fortunately I had acceptable fuel at 3.5% bought up from the wood store by my 2 year old. HIC*

Last night I asked my wife to bring my Kindle upstairs with her when she'd finished watching her programme. Unfortunately she brought the Kindle Fire instead of the proper one, and I had to go all the way back downstairs to get it.

I've ordered an i8 for delivery next April however I currently live in a top-floor penthouse flat and I'm having sleepless nights with impending range anxiety concerns. Our top-floor flat on Lake Como (available for rent hehe) will also present similiar logistical issues however at least there we have a garage with a charge-socket.

Honestly, I'm struggling to see the point of going on.......

The country I live in is on the cusp of fragmenting via a civilised voting event and the TV coverage is getting to the point where I'm having to avoid live TV in order to watch anything interesting.

If there was civil war or something I could understand all the news coverage, but there is very little actually happening.

Dullest revolution ever.

I fancy another glass of Shiraz but there aren't offies or 24h supermarkets within walking distance.

I can't drive because, obviously, I've already had a few glasses of Shiraz. Life is so unfair.

I've got a iphone6 on order, but I won't get it until Saturday (released Friday) as I'm on holiday, and won't be near the shop I ordered it to. It's gash I've got to wait a whole extra day!

Have you checked that you will be able to charge it?

I assume they come with a charger? Or is a parrot required?

Just been advised that the company car for my new job may be a Scirocco rather than a Passat.

Should this post be in the Jobs & Employment thread?

Not at my main home no. I'm amazed at my own stupidity. hehe

Although, of course we all know it's a hybrid that re-gens the battery from both the petrol engine and under braking so effectively a charge-point is not required wink

In First Class this morning, a chap sat next to me rather than in an empty pair of seats across the aisle.

Has etiquette been abolished, FFS?
