The only recognised drink that tastes worse than tonic is gin. Discussing different brands of either is like discussing different types of st.

One time I was really craving a fizzy drink (I don't know why) and in my delirium I picked up a can of tonic (it's a ridiculously tiny size, what is going on with that?) and regretted it instantly. I thought the point of a mixer drink was to take away the foulness of the alcohol that it's mixed with...

In urgent need of a replacement white number plate fixing because its top has fallen off and is exposing the screw head, I hurried to Halfords.

As I now have several life times' worth of said fixings I'm going to push the boat out and replace both.

You will regret using that one on a whim,as when you use the last of the box, you are certain to find you need just one more.

Admittedly that will probably be in about 250 years time

Why the hell do they even sell a pack like that?! Who would specifically need that many numberplate fixings :/

They're not motor factors, they sell to individuals, so I was certain I could go in and buy a couple and was quite prepared to pay way too much for them. Nuts and bolts they sell in fives and sixes and that's rarely right either. It could be they have a How Many In A Pack Department to determine what will cause their customers the maximum amount of irritation.

Halfords has chosen you to correct dodgy front plate fixings.

I don't think those plastic caps would be any good for me, the Land Rover's front numberplate is held on with baler-twine.

Handy if you want to overboard soffits and want to use screws.

EDIT: If you do decide to go this route, then perhaps best to go to Screwfix when you run out - http://www.screwfix.com/p/snap-caps-white-polyprop... (1/2 the price for twice as many).

When I'm arrested for intent to supply would it be all right to show the police these posts?

"They're for number plate screws, officer. They're non-addictive."

I'm taking mine back to Halfords for a refund. You get twice as many from Screwfix for the same money.

I assume that will be minus the one that accidentally fell out of the packet (and onto your numberplate)

My other first world problem is only having the vaguest notion of how much I paid for stuff.

Cardboard backed pack with mucho glue prevents such dastardly behaviour.
