And he didnt have a second card!!!! Why are you slumming it with these council types CC?
He hadn't taken his whole wallet with him because apparently "it's too heavy"....Edit: How far was it to Fortnum & Mason's, and do they accept AMEX cards? If so, why? Surely that is scraping the bottom of the barrel?

One of my flatmates - a real go-getter of a business student - walked in today and announced he'd had to leave his shopping at the counter in Lidl, because it turns out they don't take Amex cards.
I suspect he's the only person to ever to try paying with an Amex card in Lidl
he's clearly a tool for not getting an American Express that comes with a Visa partner card for just this type of eventuality.I suspect he's the only person to ever to try paying with an Amex card in Lidl

They couldn't clear my brown bin this week as the leafs had frozen inside due to the cold weather, now I have no empty bin for the gardener who comes later today.
Our council has suspended green waste collection for a few weeks - we only get 2 pesky bags (no bin) for £2500pa - having to take the garden waste to the dump for the gardener. Proper 1WP.

our gardener gathers up all the waste and takes it all to the tip in one hit at the end of the season. So it doesn't affect our green bin, but it does mean i have one or two of those unsightly massive builder refuse sacks at the bottom of the garden for like 2 months a year.
Sounds like you need to construct a ha-ha.(It's a real thing)
A fresh crusty loaf and a big old slab of butter. A good old fashioned bread and butter sandwich - what could go wrong? Well, the loaf isn't symmetrical and I buttered the similar sides not the facing sides. It is the untidiest sandwich ever with huge areas of overlap.
Woe, woe and thrice woe.
I still ate it.
