I like snow. Not for any tyre related reasons.
Unless drifting my quad bike absolutely everywhere, and doing donuts til I get so dizzy I fall off counts.
If you think bad weather is a nasty illness, you are living in the wrong country!
Since I live nearby, and you stalk me. Unless drifting my quad bike absolutely everywhere, and doing donuts til I get so dizzy I fall off counts.

I feel I should get a shot of this quad.

I stalk you? Everywhere I look around here, there's this guy in a Disco wearing a blue hoody!
You can have a go if you like though.
See, you stalk me. You even saw me from the last curry night! You can have a go if you like though.
I shall bring fuel and my helmet. This could be fun... Do you have suitable Disco recovering machinery?
Just in case.

This thread has cheered me right up after the bank holiday weekend!
I can’t stand the summer: too hot in the day – and you can’t sleep at night, flies and wasps getting in your face, lobster red, wobbly fat flesh on display everywhere you look, can’t get a seat outside my local to have a smoke in peace as it’s full of loud fair weather drinkers and their screeching children, pictures of people crowded on to every square centimetre of every beach in the country in the paper (they always look like sausages under a grill to me), grown men wearing sandals and shorts... No, you can keep your summer as far as I’m concerned.
Give me a bitterly cold winter’s day and I’m a happy (well, marginally less miserable) chap!
(Darkness it shall be).

My flat doesn't have central heating, my fingers and toes freeze on the walk to and from work and buying groceries on Friday evenings occasionally leads to almost slipping over and landing on my backside in public.
BUT it's an excuse to hide under the duvet, drink 12 cups of tea a day and make lots and lots of homemade soup at weekends.
Bring on the cold!

Sounds odd, but I can 'smell' the seasons change, and this evening it started to smell of winter.
I know what you mean, but for me it definitely smells autumnal at the moment.Gretchen said:

I've a motorbike one, good for when in the kitcar as it stops my hair getting blown forwards into my face.
Disco recovery is for when I have my usual "watch this" moment and get it stuck. Again. My mate dave with his defender 90 is getting good at winching me out of whatever hole I've got stuck in..
Anyway, oh glorious weather overlords.
Have read on another car forum that snow and cold is a possibility for mid October times. Any truth pug and schmalex?

Very difficult to get this right, and it's only trends that can be forecast, but with little accuracy.Current thougths are temps to be below average - but so is rainfall. High pressure to dominate. Frost a possibility - and we've seen snow in October before (I have a picture of snow in Northants on the M1 in October from 4 or 5 years ago).
