Which puma ocf course were you on? Very few people got chopped on the ocf
Not sure of the course no, but chopped off the Puma OCF end of April 2001 according to my logbook. There were 3 of us chopped within a few months of each other back then, one got booted out and the other ended up flying Hercs like me. It's a good job I was chopped too (on FHT!) as I didn't gel with the Puma at all, despite really enjoying Shawbury.

I know this thread has morphed somewhat, but here's a non-AM-owning soldier joining-in. Still serving too. 28 years so far!

That's a pretty impressive career! I've not spoken to one person who didn't enjoy their time in the RN. I can't wait to start.

You might know my dad having been on bombers. Chris Cain. Was WEO on a couple of them but now retired and working as a consultant engineer for the next build programme in Barrow.

My father did 30 years in the RA and ended up in Barrow - AS90 & UFH - He's definitely retired now but still lives in the area.

Ex WAFU did 12 years in Seakings Mk 5 & 6.

Ark and Invinc,

Been out 16 years still have travel bug with with work.

Strange TVR's are quite similar to Seaking's, noisey, drip oil and not always good at starting

6 years now in the RAF. Currently 90 Signals Unit as a 3rd line radar engineer.

Travel all over the world fixing primary radar.

Still enjoying it for the most part. Plan to get my commission though and had a good crack at it this year. Didn't quite get selected for the course but encouraged to come back.

I probably served with you then, I was on Ark in 88. Were you on "Outback 88"?
