Ex Military/Still Serving Thread
Discussion
I have taken a load of Royal Marines around Brands Hatch for the past 2 years in my car, complete sissies if you ask me Great bunch of blokes and in all seriousness especially as they were using the trackday as part of the rehabilitation for many of them injured while serving.
Does that qualify me as an honorary Marine ?
Only kidding about the sissy part.... honest

Ex RN for me, I did 22 years before I decided it was time for a career change. Had a great time whilst serving but I'm so glad that I've had the chance to try something else now.

HMS Penzance
My dad was Edinburgh, and Avenger, Manchester, Glasgow. Went by the nickname of Moose but is formally an Emmerson.HMS Edinburgh

Well I was on the Edinburgh from 85 to 87, so if your old man was onboard then I could quite well know him, what branch was he?
Now THIS is why I started the thread......Vantagefan said:

Well that proves he did do the Camouflage part of the training
I remember being told by the drill instructor " Darren I didn't see you at camouflage training this morning " I replied "thank you sir " avinalarf said:
Calling navyatco,
Interested in knowing more about your DB6 or better still some pics.
I had a DB6 about 1972 ,just wondering ...
Sadly parted with that one in 2006 after 3 years ownership - I do have pics, but they are all on a disc at home; I'll post some when I get the chance. My favourite is driving through Windsor Castle at AMOC 75th (?) anniversary event and being caught on camera giving HM The Queen and HRH DoE a stiff ignoring (unintentional)! It was a light metallic blue/green colour (can't remember name of it now) with reg no VLW934G. I now have a DB7 and DB7VV.Interested in knowing more about your DB6 or better still some pics.

I think that ridiculing someone on the open forum is not a god thing...if you have something to say to who ever it was...prob best done through private messages....dirty laundry in public and all that....
Don't think there's been any ridicule, just a request for clarification and the promise of an apology and humble pie consumption if found to be wrong. It has so far gone unanswered and actually I think many people would like to know the answer from a fairly prolific poster with vested interests who proffers frequent advice and recommendations.
IMHO.

Not in my opinion

ecain63 I notice you are brave enough to display a rover 100 (metro) in your previous cars list. I would love to be able to ridicule you for this but I got stuck with one as a company car for six months when I ordered it for a previous girlfriend and then split up with her. In fact it was the car I was driving when I met my wife !!!!! It was made worst by the fact it was painted in a strange purple colour.
