Great thread.

It's odd that yesterday I saw two gypsies tied together in the middle of nowhere and hurried on in case a dog jumped out of the hedge.

Round my way its horses rather than daags. We do have big hedges, though.

2 Dogs, 1 Gypsy, 1 Sheltered Wally.

Niche, but I'd watch it.

This thread made me laugh out loud, just the way he makes it sound like the only logical reason for two dogs to be tied together is to distract you while a gypsy hides in the bushes. Not a murderer, rapist or anything, but specifically a gypsy. Even the title is brilliant hehe

Just got back from walking our dog in the fields across the way from where we live.

We normally go all the way down to the end of the field away from the main road however on the way back we saw a couple of dogs in the distance with no owner in sight. Once we reached the dogs it became aparent that they were tied together.

This alerted me that it may be some kind of trick so I didn't stop and walked away as fast as possible to the road. My first thought was that it could be some kind of trick to get me to stop and help the dogs whilst a gypsy jumps out the bush.

I looked back and the dogs managed to untangle themselves, they seemed to be happy (tails wagging) and eventually ran away.

I'm not sure whether to call RSPCA or the council to report a abandoned dog. I didn't stay close to them long enough to see if they wore a coller either.

I did, however see someone run away when i first saw the dogs in the distance thinking it was a jogger, but maybe they tied them up and ran off when they spotted us?

Never falling for the loose goose scam again.

My friend fell for the 3 cats in a phonebox ruse. He'll be out of hospital next month.

Aren't gypsies better known for stealing dogs? If there's something abandoning dogs it's most likely an anti gypsy. If a gypsy and an anti gypsy ever come into contact it'll be the end of the universe.

To be honest, if the worst that comes out of this is you being bummed then I think we can all count ourselves lucky.

A friend ended up in casualty with repressed memories after encountering the below, as later described (under the influence of drugs) when out for a walk with their dogs up Beacon Fell. Who knows what Gypsy tricks were being played out that night along those dark lanes.

They are still not right now.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that Eileen- an absent minded 87 year old, has been found dead in a field after falling and breaking her hip. Her two dogs- tied together to make them more manageable to exercise- hovered around her frail body, watching their master slowly die in excruciating pain. Police have also stated that her injuries were easily treatable, had a member of the public reached her sooner, rather than mincing away like an utter Gaylord having stupidly believed each and every stty piece of news ever to be published regarding 'them bloody gypsies'.
Meanwhile, the only known person to have witnessed the incident declined to comment as he was hiding behind his sofa, struck rigid with fear, thinking that it may not be a reporter on the doorstep, but an alien/dalek/rapist/mugger/anarchist..........
