I don't quite know what to say. "Thanks Mr Roper" just doesn't seem appropriate, it simply doesn't cover the emotions I'm feeling.

In. With a double chin. And a dislike for gin, because it tastes like a bin. I have a big grin because I'm full of win!

Yes, the only cool thing about all this Xmas malarky, count me in !

But maybe give this a thought :

I was having a muse on the drive home and I wonder if it would be better to use the same timescale we had for the first year....?

It's nice having 8 weeks to stalk, buy and ship; but it also provides quite a bit of time to forget. Last year we received emails, stalked and posted in 4 weeks and we managed it; plus the shortertimespan kept the pace and the atmosphere of the thread up....

That is assuming people want to do it next year.

I throw it open to the floor...
I can only imagine the work that The Beaver King and Deputy Doofy are performing to get this to work,

so maybe we should let them decide this (if they are doing it at all, which I hope).

So to bring some ORDNUNG in here, first we need a new, proper titled thread so old and new PHSS can join in.

Second, we need this spreadsheet, nothing works without a correct spreadsheet.

Third, maybe we just assemble Santas and wait for TBK to send us our victim´s name ?

And finally, Mr. Sway : Did you ever mount my present ?

Shirt - I sent your pressie to the address I had, after the reminder a few months ago. I thought you just didn't update the thread as it was so late.

House is upside down at the moment as we're having it refurbished, but I'll try and dig out the shipping label to find out what happened.

Benni - Yep, I'll get some pics and post them up, much appreciated (as we're those amazing cookie things!).

Holy st snacks! Is it really almost Christmas again?!!!! bounce

Cheers for the PM Giblet, I didn't realise people were getting geared up so early this year.

I think before a new thread is started, we need to decide, as a group, what format we want to use. This will be the 3rd PHSS and we've used two different timescales (as Benni correctly highlighted), with mixed results for both.

The first year we used a 4 week scale. Although tight and with potential for a higher rate of late deliveries, it did keep it fresh in peoples minds and kept the momentum in the thread going.

The second year used an 8 week scale. This allowed more time to stalk, buy and deliver; but did leave the thread a bit bare and give people enough time to forget.

I'll throw it open for discussion, but I felt the 4 week format worked better. We could look to meet in the middle with a 6 week scale or have a longer registration window and then issue names closer to the time.

With regards to organisation this year, I'll need a few days to think about it. I'm potentially changing jobs in the next 2 months, so I might not get time to organise this year (gutted frown). Thankfully I've already had one or two offers to take over this year; plus I'll be around to help where needed. So, as I said I need a couple of days to work out if I can, but in the meantime if anybody would like to throw their name into the hat, post on here.

no issues mate. i have been away since the end of may, only got back last week but of all the parcels waiting for me at work there wasn't anything festive. if you do have the tracking label that might help. if its RM then emirates post probably still have it at their depot.

6 weeks sounds about right thumbup

You'll be a hard act to follow as you've done a top job, BK, but I'm sure someone will pop along to help out.

I can't as I'm crap at computers and stuff. biggrin
