I've f'd up a pregnancy test
Discussion
As someone has said, these tests are not 100%
Occasionally you get a 'false positive' reading.
Don't give in. When she misses her period, suggest another test.
If you are still together in a few years, which I am sure you will be, best wishes etc, with a wonderful kid, you can tell her about this and have a laugh!

There are very clear reasons why I haven't told her straight away, which are private between her, myself and her family. Sometimes ways to protect and nurture aren't always as straight forward as may appear.
I bet she'll see the bigger picture when she finds out. There is no way she is going flip her st. Edited by Robb F on Saturday 23 November 21:32

As I'm sure you know, for the healthy development of a baby pregnant mothers should avoid things like alcohol, tobacco, drugs, certain prescription medication etc. But of course she doesn't know that she's pregnant so....
This just adds to the complication of the situation. Tell her soon

Thanks. The only one of those we use/take is alcohol. We're off to a wedding tonight but she's driving as I can't drive her car here. Tomorrow will be a nice relaxed day and we'll sit down and talk Victor McDade said:

Good call Victor. Whilst my post was semi serious, I am sorry I did not think of this. This just adds to the complication of the situation. Tell her soon
Hope all works out well OP
Although it was a silly thing to do...damage control would dictate you wait until she misses her next period then just say "maybe we should check again" or just wait a week or so and being up the fact that she is late coming on still and tackle it that way. Have her take another test and wow would you Adam and Eve it! she is pregnant!
The ones that state they "can" detect pregnancy before a missed period still have a higher chance of a false negative before the missed period and this is clearly explained in the instructions. So clearly the last one was negative...as far as she is concerned!
Good luck!
