Not a bad year for me so far:

High's:

Moving into new flat with girlfriend.

buying a Nissan 350z...having good times, selling and buying a cheaper DC5 integra instead.

Work is fine, getting on, been 2 years here now with more job roles to come in and discuss raise with boss.

Progress on my Cronhs disease, surgical option is a go.

Oh and just getting handed a bottle of grey goose from the MD smile

Low's:

Moving away from parents (this is a good thing, I just miss the pets a bit frown )

Finding out I should get surgery, again a good thing, just bit nervous.

So a busy year with more ups than downs, lots of changes but ready for them all so far.

2013

Job: No change for me.
Cars: Scrapped the daily drive MR2, currently driving my AX GTi (22,500 miles on the clock) as a daily drive - this doesn't impress me much
Relationship: Ended a 6 year relationship and jumped feet first into another a couple of months later with a guy I have known (only through car sites) for about 10 years
Health: No (known) changes
Holidays: Isle of Man Classic TT 2013 - Loves every second of it! Roll on 2014!
Finances: Spent more than I've earned (Nothing new there then!)

Timeline:
January: Found out about Nanna's cancer
February: Had to have my Dog Candy put to sleep & Split up with partner of 6 years
March: Moved to my bachelorette Pad bounce
April: Started new relationship & Lost my Nanna to Cancer
July: One of my cousins got married, leaving me the only one of my generation unmarried... eek!
November: Had to have my bunny put to sleep

All in all, it's been a crap year but things have got to be better next year... right?confused

Job: Good, been really busy doing a job that I really enjoy, delivered a major project and learnt a hell of a lot.
Relationship: Good, just over 3 years now, we live in different countries and see each other every 4-6 weeks so that isn't great but we have managed. She has just got a job in Bristol too and will be moving in togeather.
Health: Really good this year, fittest I have ever been doing my first triathlon, cycle sportives and aiming to race next year.
Holidays: Fairly thin on the ground, went camping for a few days, been over to Hamburg to see GF a few weekends but booked a holiday in Thailand for Feb 2014 (3 week away!)
Finances: Good, earnt a good amount of OT and got a decent bonus which has allowed me to save for my first house. Still yet to move in!
Anything else: Constant anger and frustration at how long it is taking to purchase my house (5 months so far FFS!) spent 3 months living at home with my parents already which is pretty crap, all my stuff is just piled into my room in Ikea bags and I am driving an s2000 62 miles when I have to go into the office which sucks. Once I have moved into my flat everything will be rosy again!

Job: Still working on Contracts, managed to keep in work throughout the recession so fingers crossed, worst is over.

Relationship: Married for 10 years next May, all good (as far as I know!)

Car: Downsized from a 5.5 to a 5.0! feeling the pinch of petrol prices!

Holidays: Great Drive down to St Tropez, and Monte Carlo, finally made it as been trying to get there for years.

Health: All good, few aches an pains, managed to stick with the running schedule and managed to take a few inches off the waistline. Witnessed first signs of hairline receeding!

Overall, it would be rude to complain.

Job: 3rd year in and going well. Lots of changes that dont really directly affect me but interesting to see change. Always oppertunity for overtime and I go to a permenant 3 day a week starting in January. No pay rise at all during that time though :-(
Relationship: Been with husband over 10 years, married 8 and it's perfect. Very happy.
Health: Relativly ok. Finally recieved confirmation of a neurological disorder I have had for three years now which means I can access the drugs and treatment tht I need so much more easily.
Holidays: Not so good. Due to finances managed a 5 days break in a caravan in Selsey. But it involved 14 of us, 4 families lots of kids and a fantastic time.
Finances: Pretty rubbish but hey, you cant have it all!
Anything else: Have been to hell and back regarding my childrens previous school but feel ever so rightously smug that it is likely to be closed down this week. I lost friends by standing up to what I believed was right. Turns out they now all agree despite feeling so strongly against me in the beginning. Shame because if they had listened to me then they now wouldnt be facing closure of their kids school. I have learnt a huge amount about education, politics and will put that into good use as i am proudly now a govenor of my children's new school.

High's - watching my daughter turn 1 and taking her first steps, and finding out the mrs is pregnant with baby numero deux

Lows - Struggling a bit financially, 2014 should be the year all the hard work pays off. Went through a bout of depression about 6 months ago which sucked all motivation out of me and was hard getting out of bed some mornings. wouldn't wish that on anyone.

All in all a good year, hope 2014 isnt too shabby either

Job: I was at a well regarded Sales Company until March putting in 110% only to be told that I wasn't needed any more and not to come in the next day. It was a shock to say the least and I spent six months looking for other employment - I found another job in September and really enjoy what I do now.

Cars: In the middle of September, I got my first car. It is a Skoda Fabia 1.4 8v Classic and I love it. I have only driven 2,500 miles so far..

Relationship: None. hehefrown

Health: I got told that I do not need to the hospital for my MRI scans for a good few years, which is nice. I have noticed that since working in an office, my weight has crept up. I am not fat but why wait until I am to do something about it.

Holidays: My passport ran out two years ago and have not been away since 2008. I will renew it in 2014 as I want to see different places again.

Finances: Average. It could be better but I have spent money on driving lessons, a car, insurance and other odds 'n' sods AND kept myself afloat during my stint as unemployed.

Anything else: I passed my driving test on 7th March 2013 and I was fortunate to drive a new Alfa Romeo Giulietta soon after. I am also fortunate to have good friends and family around me.

2013 hasn't been terrible but there is room for improvement in 2014. biggrin

Pretty interesting ready through this thread, I'm sure more of the things said here won't be shared so freely outside of the digital world.

Does feel a bit like group therapy for me knowing I'm not the only one in stormy seas...

Job: Renewal of a contract with a big oil firm, 12 months, happy days.

Cars: Using a Volvo V40 D3 as a daily which is new, great car. Bought an 11 plate Clio Cup as a second/track day car, hoping to get into that next year, should be fun!

Relationship: Living with the girlfriend still, bought our own place in 2012, won't get away with not proposing much longer! censored

Health: Had a problem with my snoring, nasal polyps, now sorted, was in the spare room for a few months till it was sorted though, felt bad for my girlfriend!

Holidays: Benidorm on a stag do in May, (my now brother in laws) - didn't enjoy it but that's another story, not been abroad apart from that as we are spending a month in Australia in February 2014 and wanted to save for that, had a few trips into the Highlands (I live in Aberdeen) and to London though - went to see Iron Maiden in August, loved it.

Finances: Spent a lot of money, from cars to our 2014 holiday but no problems, contract extension at work, excellent pay which I am very grateful for.

Anything else: Nothing much, I'm boring.

Highs Buying my first ever running V8, an E90 M3. Visiting London,

Lows Splitting up from my long term Fiancée and mother of my 3 year old son, going back to work in a job I dislike, being seperated from my son for 6 weeks at a time, being forced to sell my beloved E90 M3

2013 has turned out to be the worst year of my adult life if I'm honest, it started of rather well and suddenly hit a U turn, to what it is now, hopefully 2014 is looking more prosperous but it's unlikely

Lows: Falling 30ft onto a wood table and breaking my back in 4 horrible ways.

Highs: Being able to walk again after having back repaired with titanium rods.

Lows: No Visa for my fiancée, and being unable to visit her due to said injury, and now not having seen her in ages.

Highs: Off to see her in 2 weeks.

Jobs: High - landed a dream job doing what I want to do, where I want to work and with good pay. Couldn't be better.
Cars: Mixed - sensible dull road car purchased for very little which is good. Ongoing saga rebuilding the rally car which is bad.
Relationship: Low - still single
Health: Low - a head injury with amnesia which, although minor, is taking longer to recover from and has made me take a different look at what's important in life
Holidays: none
Finances: sound
Anything else: had quite a good year co-driving

Job: Graduated University, didn't go into the field I studied for as it is notoriously unreliable. I will do it when I'm a bit more stable. Moved to London with no job, managed to secure a good job with solid prospects in an industry I had no experience in within 3 weeks of moving here, which was nice, especially after doing 3 months in a call centre to save up some money. Been here less than a month, learning a lot, hope they keep me.

Cars: Got my first car! With my name on the V5 and everything! And it's a Mk1 MX5, so couldn't be happier really. Spent the summer cruising by the beach with the top down. Haven't driven her for 2 months though, which is sad, and not the cars fault. Bloody London.

Relationship: Better than ever. Spent 4 months living together, which after 3 years of long distance, was a blessing. He's had to go to uni now though frown

Health: Kept most of the 3.5 stone off I lost last year. Smoking less, eating slightly better. No maladies as yet. Issues with my teeth are annoying.

Holidays: Done a lot of travelling around the UK, but not left the country. Hope to next year.

Finances: Absolutely awful. I owe several people money, I pay a huge amount of rent, my new job is largely commission based so it'll be a while before I see any benefits there, I can't keep up with my friends who all earn more than me. But hopefully I'm laying the ground work for a more successful future.

Anything else: Moving to Central London after 21 years of dreaming about it has been scary but brilliant. I saw Beyonce perform live. I got to do a brief but fun job that showed me that I hadn't wasted 3 years of uni, and showed me that working can be fun. One day I'll do it again...

Not a bad year. A huge year for changes, and has been scary in places, but hopefully I'm just setting up for next year to be even better! smile

Job: My business survived the first 12 months and now seeing a near 50% increase in sales over the first year, so pretty happy. Also studying, which is going really well and might be becoming a tutor for the next academic year.

Cars: Driving my corsa that I have owned for over 8 years, I know its 'just a corsa' but its never let me down and other than normal maintenance, it has never cost me anything. Bought a Octavia Vrs in April but it went back to the dealer after 11 days due to engine management light kept coming back on even though it went back to the dealer 3 times.

Relationship: Broke up with girlfriend of 2 and a half years about 6 weeks ago.

Health: Unknown stomach pain still causing me problems, having more tests soon. Phobia still kind of controlling aspects of my life but hopefully going to be trying something new to help next year.

Holidays: Haven't been on holiday for 4 years.

Finances: What finances? Survived on savings since starting business but now I will start to have an income from it hopefully.

Anything else: Started seeing friends more recently, which is good as lost touch with them over past couple of years.

Overall quite an up an down year but things are looking up at the end.

Thanks for that forgot to mention one more high I swapped my Boxster s for an S4 convertible which is proving to be the most Suprisingly great car I've owned to date.
Sounds like my Chimaera but is quicker & can carry 4 in total comfort.

Job
Left a job I loved where I was treated and paid like st, joined a job I hate where I am treated well and paid well. (How does that work!?)

Cars
Started 2013 with a 1993 L Reg Corsa, ending the year with a 1994 RX-7 FD Twin Turbo and a 2009 RX-8 R3

Relationship
Nothing at the start, nothing at the end and nothing in between!

Health
I'm not dead... But I doubt my insides are in good shape. Stated going to the gym the last 6 weeks and I'm kinda sticking to it.

Holidays
Petrolhead Nirvana American Dream Tour... 10 Corvettes across 2000 miles of the USA. Awesome is an understatement.

Finances
Earning a lot more now. But two cars that attain 16mpg with tax costing a combined £750 cancels that out.

Housing
I moved out of my dads... And I don't know if I want to move back in with him or not... I miss the pets.

Job: Positive and getting better. Started in this role at the end of 2012 the first half of the year has been heavy but now all the projects seem to succeed
Cars: "Resized" but not totally low. After selling the V8 Vantage I first looked for a 997.1 GT3, than Evora but I ended with an Elise, a car I already enjoyed in my low 20s. When I drive I feel 10 years younger. The daily 525d esate is not properly engaging to drive but it is proving quick and frugal enough for Autostrada, 8 speed auto also perfect when the traffic is jammed in the city. And about bikes I used the old ZX-9R more than ever, next spring a brand new powerful superbike is coming...
Relationship: Tempestuous...passion still burns for an ex-girlfriend I met again and the 2 of the 3 relationships I started this year didn't lasted, about the third I really don't know.
Health: Generally ok but Low compared to 2012. My running, cycling and swimming performances have always been stable or worsening along all the year. Too much evenings working and I also drank way too much.
Holidays: Low. I travelled a lot as usual but not a single long road trip which is a must for me. Sailing in Greece in the summer was good but not unforgettable.
Finances: Low. I had to spend a lot for the houses, all the extraordinary maintenance issues of the 2 seem to have concentrated in this year. Also taxes in Italy increased spikly.

Job: New job at a new company. Selling beer rather than making it. Less hours, more money, good freebies! I'm very happy.

Cars: The Fiesta died so got weighed in. Bought an 07 plate Megane 1.5dci which is dull but frugal, I commute on the train to London and my OH walks to work, so it doesn't get used much. Still sharing a Z3m Roadster that my Dad and I bought a few years back but, it has only done about 2000 miles this year. I rarely get to use it since I moved out three years ago.

Relationship: Four years together, our second year living together. Pressure mounting from all fronts to get married, debating internally as to whether I cave in next year.

Health: Put on about half a stone due to all the free lunch, free beer and lack of physical exercise in my new job.

Holidays: Not bad, rented a house in the South of France for a week with a couple of friends. Also had my first trip to Center Parcs which I thought was going to be like awful, middle-class Butlins but was actually great fun. A week of cycling, windsurfing, and generally dicking about outdoors.

Finances: Saving like mad to try and buy a house next year. Got a mortgage agreed, just need to find the right house.

Anything Else: Rescued a cat (Monty) who I spoil. Lost a very good friend to a brain tumour in the spring, I miss him a lot. Plans next year to get said friend's Caterham 7 back on the road.
