The fact that a 26" telly is now a small one for the kids' bedroom.

I remember when having a 26" colour telly meant you were a rock star or George Best.
Agreed. When I got my first house I bought a 28 inch TV. Anyone visiting for the first time would comment on the size.

I bought a new TV a couple of weeks ago and was surprised to see that TV's 32 inches and below were in a section marked "Small TV's"

The Mrs and I watched a bit of X Factor tonight, the contestants are only teenagers, I've got pants older than most of them

On seeing this thread thinking I must put something on there then realised I had actually done so back on page 12 but couldn't remember doing so!

So here's a few more

Going to visit my parents and my dad telling me he has a t shirt just like the one I'm wearing! Thankfully he wasn't wearing it at the same time.

Referring to pubs by names they haven't been called for years.

Working with a colleague who was 13 when 9/11 happened, and was 8 months old when the Lockerbie disaster happened. Yet I still think of them as recent events.

Grey hair. Won't be an issue soon as my monthly clippercut is getting progressively shorter to blend in with receding hairline. In fact it can't get any shorter now without being considered bald.

Feeling the cold. Seems to be more frequent. Draughts that I never knew existed before. Days that aren't especially warm but young folk out in t shirts and I'm wondering what type of jacket to wear!

Wondering how I'm getting home from a night out before I've even left the house.

Realising how many years since its been since getting asked for ID in a pub. Walking up to a pub with doorstaff (admittedly not many have this in my town now) without panicking if they are going to knock you back.

Typing this on a Saturday night when years ago I would have been in the pub!

In the last couple of years, I've started wearing tweed quite frequently.

And of course the one that afflicts many.
At 17 only 5% of girls looked attractive.
Once the other 95% start to look doable you are officially old.
Lol, so true, I look at women in their forties and think "mmm, she'd get it", then I step back and think "fk me I'm getting old"

Another one is seeing attractive ladies that are around the same age as your daughter; she's 22 by the way so it's all perfectly ok, and thinking "mmmm oh yes, definitely", then you mentally slap your self as they are the same age as your eldest and that is just so wrong.

I'm only 25 but last night, hearing that one of the contestants on the X Factor was born in 1998. I'm starting to feel what all you proper old people feel.

And I dare say you won't be posting a pic of said daughter so we may make an independent assessment?

You are correct, however; as mentioned on another thread, I think it was a lookie likey one, she does look like Frankie from the Saturdays, so much so that she would spend many an evening out with her girlfriends and not buy a single drink as they were all bought for her, she would do the odd photo too.

I have to say I get shocked if I look at myself properly in the mirror. I am follicley challenged so don't look in the mirror to brush my hair. Generally don't use a mirror to shave.

So if I'm forced to, usually in a hotel with cruel fluorescent lights, I look old. I can still see myself in there, but hidden in the slightly worn, slightly lined, slightly saggy façade.

I had a job today that made me feel old frown

Got called to my old secondary school (I work on an Ambulance). We parked the Ambo on the playground. The buildings are being used as council offices now, but they are all the same as they were on the outside, just done up as offices on the inside now.

As I stood and looked around, it all looked the same and very familiar. The playground, the steps leading up into buildings, the pathways - I had spent five years walking around all that tarmac and all those pathways.

In an instant, I remembered many split-second memories of various things happening in various places, sitting on the same wall in front of me eating lunch, etc, etc.

I was sort of happy until I realised that the last time I had been there - although it felt like yesterday - was actually nearly 30 years ago cry

I made myself feel better by remembering the child me sitting there, not having a clue that I would be back there nearly 30 years later, as a Paramedic. I had no idea when I was at school that life would take me in that direction vocationally!

Watched this video from the youtube thread:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENdgyD7Uar4

rather than laughing at the extreme weirdness of it, all I could think of was "thats a bit of a waste of good food" and "that's one hell of a mess to clean up!"
