First felt older when youngsters knew not what I meant by a tanner or a bob.
Watched 'Carry On Cabby' this afternoon and recognised all the cars in it - and the actors.
I know about Fuller's Earth and Zebrite.
UNF threads are a rarity.

Less than a year from threescore, fer Chrissake eek

You think that's bad, I just divided the length of time you've been on PH by twelve to see if you were telling the truth!

Explaining to a 23 year old Brummie who Tony Hancock and Jeff Lynne were and that they were in fact from Birmingham:

Having my eyes tested by a delightful young lady who remarked that my eyes were in excellent condition for someone of my age - I was 34 !

My BiL, who refuses to watch any movie made before 2000, because they're "old movies and you can see it".
Had to lie to him to get him to watch Independence Day and Jurassic Park.

For me it's being around some of my friends who are now grandparents. In their early forties.

When I became a full grown man. Time ran...

Yup, one of my best friends is 40 (a couple of months younger than me) and his 21 year old daughter is having a baby in the new year. I still struggle with the fact I'm a father let alone thinking about being a Grandfather!

I became a grandad last year at the ripe old age of 38, my grandson had his first birthday 2 weeks ago, my daughter is now 22.

Having a child at 17 isn't ideal, however it worked for us and now myself and the wife see people of a similar age to us that are either just starting out with kids or are carting toddlers about and we think, "thank fk we've got all that out of the way!"

I feel old (I am old) when a group of died in the wool Alfa fans don't understand why a beautifully detailed jet black Alfa 147GTA with black tints, black interior and gloss black rims could do with a Disaster Zone sticker

I mean really, where's my towel...

Was marshalling for a historic rally at the weekend.

There were Minis smile a Minor smile TRs smile Sprite smile Volvo PV544 smile.......an Allegro :| and a Golf GTI rolleyes , a 205 GTI eek

We did work out that the GTIs were actually older than one of the guys Sprite was when he competed in it 20 or 30 years ago, so it is legit, sort of.

To make things worse, the Golf wasn't even a Mk1, I think it was Mk2, but there have been so many I've lost track. At least Peugeot change the number of the car when there's a new version so you know which is which!
