I'm 54 in a couple of weeks and I have to agree, I find it really annoying that all the adverts for over 50 show some doddery old fool who is probably in his late 70's. I don't feel any different than 10 or 15 years ago and wish the advertisers would wake up to the fact that life can be good post 50 and we're not quite dead yet!

I was 60 last June.

Watching my friends getting older - not me of course, I'm the exception.

I shave without looking in the mirror, in fact I avoid all mirrors or large reflective windows. When I do see my reflection, I wonder who the old git is looking back at me.

So you've had your "3 window birthday card" from the NHS. Another thing to make you feel old.

I passed my driving test on 26th March 1992.

Almost exactly two years before the bloke who sits behind me at work was born.

He wears a wedding ring.

Very similar to you, I passed in April '92. My Goddaughter has just had a baby and she wasn't born then :-(

Filling in electronic forms and when asked year of birth having to navigate all the way down to 1962 - nothing better to show the number of years that have run by!!

Mrs Targa and I still own the 1975 MG we bought in 1986. My youngest is now 18 and she drives it occasionally. She took it to a party the other night to show friends. This was the equivalent of me going to party in 1981 driving a car built in 1941 !
