If there's one thing I've learned in my time on PH it's never get involved in the handbag matches, just makes both of you look ridiculous.

Oh, and if there's one more thing I've learned in my time on PH it's never give Silent1 an excuse to laugh at you!

The 'Kipper thread is now more entertaining and cringeworthy than the Scottish independence thread. People trying to out-do each other by means of more and more childish insults wrapped up in nice long words. Some in there really need to have a word with themselves. There's one poster in particular who's posts I mentally read with the voice of Rick, from The Young Ones.

neither did "The Fun Factor" - now shut down, once it descended into a bh fight about who had posted pictures of their genitals to a 40 year old trucker pretending to be a woman. Gotta love this place

rofl PH, it's fooking mental, you could post a thread stating that the Popes a catholic and within a day you could guarantee it would turn into a 20 page bun fight arguing the fact. I love thus place so foooking much smile

Well seeing as that would be a religious thread it would actually become 50 pages of "no, I hate religion more than you, I hate how bigoted they are and anyone who doesn't agree with me is a deluded moron"

I am always amazed that you have the time, good will and courtesy to respond to virtually every comment by mere mortals posted on here. I enjoy reading your comments and replies and I'm sure like many others, I hope they continue.

this thread at the start was picking some great threads out that were truly cringeworthy.

the guy appreciates somebody telling us about his F1 and P1. cars us mere mortals are never going to be able to own even with a huge lottery win.

not something i would type but hardly cringeworthy i know where hes coming from. where elese to we get to converse with the owners of cars like these?

come on guys raise the bar. i want threads that i have to read through my fingers.

It's obvious.

It's cringeworthy because:

Nobody needs to be amazed that somebody posts on an Internet forum, that's what forums are for and everyone on here has posted something. Is he really always amazed?

He hasn't posted on his own thread for years anyway, he only came back when he announced that he'd ordered a P1.

We're all mortal, even rich people are mortal. People with less money aren't more mortal or less immortal than people with more money.

(Incidentally, other people can own these cars, with or without a lottery win, all they need is a lot of money. They can be bought yes)

He is being a sycophant because Flemke has got some good cars. He is implying that Flemke is somehow better, and even somehow immortal, because he has got some good cars. He's implying that Flemke is somehow kind because he is posting on a forum used by people like ourselves.

That's what's cringeworthy about that post.

If he likes the thread, why not just repy, saying he likes the cars and the thread?

You're out of your mind. The Flemke thread is the piece de resistance of all that is cringeworthy.
I don't disagree that it is good to read FLemkes stuff - but this fantasy people seem to have that he does it purely for our benefit is in itself embarrassing.
And then when you factor in the fact that everyday normal posters don't seem to be able to converse in a normal way on that thread, it's like watching your mum and dad having sex.
Any page will reveal gems like

One question flemke though if you wouldn't mind....
If you wouldn't mind? When did anyone ever tag "if you wouldn't mind" on to the end of a question to anyone else on pistonheads?
For me the big shame is that ordinary people with even an atom of dignity are forced away from a hugely interesting thread because it is literally too shameful to be associated with that level of sychophanticness. And surely Flemke hates it too?
If I had an F1 and wanted to show it off to other car enthusiasts I would utterly despise it if people talked to me like I was the king.

Flemke's just corrected the 'mere mortal' poster, I hope he does cringe when he reads some of the posts.

And he's been congratulated heartily for being so down to earth.
God it is a fking horror show.

I am genuinely interested in his car ownership experience but that thread is unreadable. He has ordered a P1 and I similarly want to follow that.
Maybe there should be a mirrored Flemke thread which only shows his posts and nobody elses?

That would be a genuinely useful feature on PH, or just the ability to click on a profile and read someone's former posts.
