Where have i cried about being poor?

If some of the posters on here spent more time actually working and less time arselicking overpaid wealthy people, they'd also be a bit better off and we wouldn't see as many pissing competitions about salary, cars, properties and watches.

Christ knows how some of you lot run businesses. hehe You must have an army of underpaid staff who disguise how fat and lazy you are.

Presumably with a position like that, a share scheme is where the majority of the benefit comes from. So who knows what he's on in real terms. Dividends won't be that much of it.
Agreed, however the shareprice has been going down. Share schemes are based on options. You get a option to buy shares at a price fixed in time, you can then exercise that option at a set date in the future.

If the shares are worth less than the option price, then the options are worth fk all. Its a way of making directors pay linked to the value of the company.

When you see the typical "fat cat" headline saying a director gets millions in shares, its just an option to buy, not actual shares given to them. They can actually make a big fat zero.
The senior Tesco employees (and those of many other companies) also receive 'free' shares, which of course have a variable payout based on the share price at vesting, but are only generally forfeitable on termination for cause, so it's likely that Philip Clarke will still receive a payment now or in the future.

It's likely that a fairly significant portion of the share-related payout at termination was actually granted before he became CEO, as they tend to have a 3-5 year vesting period.

Anyway, less Tesco, more cringe...

The latest Chris Harris Ferrari FF thread has the crawlers out. Surely even Sir Chris of Harris must feel a bit embarrassed to have so many grown men fawning over him. Over-reach, or reach-around? You decide.

I had to really hold myself from replying to that thread. Pompous arse, lording it over everyone because he's in a position to spend more on a car. What a cock he is. GTIR is correct in repeated mocking of SCoH.

I have to say that the trolling of his threads by people pretending to fawn over him are as cringey as the posts by people actual fawning.

I think that's a bit harsh.
Yes, I have posted some mock fawning but not for weeks, as I got bored.

doogz. No joke. Just trying to have some light hearted banter. I should know better. I apologies for my insolence.

Ha, no worries. I just didn't 'get' it.

Big deadline in work this week, my sense of humour is on the blink.

He sits at the top of the food chain around here, just above the demigods that are car salesmen, so just be grateful he will let you lick his arse.laugh

I find it particularly cringey when someone who has been around a place for years & cannot possibly fail to know the answer to the question they've just asked, then tops if off with a false premise for good measure, in order to make a specious point about their own personal line in the sand that no one else cares about in the slightest in what is frankly, a highly elliptical manner.

This thread over the last few pages is the most cringeworthy by far that I have seen recently.

Plus no need to post every single thread by CH and say that it's cringy seeing all the men offering him their bodies etc. It's a given, and is just becoming repeatative now.

No, I know the name, I know he does car reviews here, but beyond that? I have no idea. Was he a professional driver? Is he involved in the production of Top Gear? I genuinely know nothing more than stated above or why he's so popular here. I don't even know when he became a thing around here, it was just suddenly 'chris harris this', 'chris harris that'.

someone compares their custom made £100 fake cigarette (why would you) to a £100k watch or something.

As I posted there:

Can you explain why, as it seems to me:

Don't buy a watch that can tell the time for £5 and get one that is more special (engineering, materials etc) for £20 000.

Don't buy a cheap vap and get one made with special materials, handmade etc for more money.

The only difference is the amount spent, and the whole point of the thread seems to be about watching not being for status and showing off wealth. Which then surely makes the amount difference irrelevant?
