I've got a really nice AV system in my main living room with all the equipment in its own room next door and all the speakers integrated into the ceiling and walls around the room.

A friend was dumbfounded I'd go to such lengths yet have no Playstation or Xbox plumbed into it.

I simply have no interest or time to devote to playing games, and as such have never owned a console.
Other way around for me. System set up purely to play Call of Duty. Can't be arsed with TV as its too much hassle to get (crappy) english channels anyway, when you can torrent things from USA way quicker...

It's something that has always baffled me about this site. People seem determined to give the impression that they've never left the house.

"Who's Justin Bieber?"

Even if you had somehow managed to avoid Bieber up to now, surely a quick Google search would save you waiting on a reply on here.
That's the worst thing. As they're posting on a forum, they clearly have the technical nouse to use Google. So there isn't even any other possible conclusion to come to than they're advertising ignorance to coney a point. They just look like total dicks to be honest.
Its total bs perpetuated by the same bellends who 'hate London', only wash using castrol and buy their clothes from supermarkets. Moron doesn't even begin to cover it. A bunch of middle aged men who masturbate each other while attending a some stty 'meet' in the north west. fking strokers.

What are we going to do now you've scrapped the barrel?
Buy a whole new barrel. How to finance it? If only there was an advice page on PH.
You should not buy a barrel on finance. If you can't afford to buy it outright then you can't afford it!11!!1!1111!!

Agreed, you definitely don't want a bubble on your barrel.

The "Whisky, how can I develop a taste for it" thread isn't overly offensive but it's been revived recently and each time I open it, the first post makes me cringe more and more.

OP said:
I love the idea of whisky, something to sip while sitting in a wing-backed chair in front of a roaring fire. Lovely.
No offense to the OP intended but I have a vision of him sitting there on a cheap DFS sofa in front of a crappy gas fire and struggling through a glass of malt.

That's before even considering that the basic premise of the thread is:

"I hate smoking, find it utterly disgusting but think it's cool. What cigarettes would you recommend for me to start out with"

I think you've scored a cringe own goal scratchchin

More cringe flows from your own imagined projection of the guy than from him trying to develop an acquired taste.

Sorry, MfDM! paperbag

"It's not something I need in my life at the moment"

Talking about an argument on the internet, about E-Cigarettes.

Some people take it all very seriously.

Wow, most of the cringe there comes from all the anti Harris people as far as I can see, it seems all the op wanted to do was say well done to Harris for getting onto the TV. Is that such a bad thing?

I agree, this reminds me a little of the cringeworthy cheese thread back in Jan:
http://www.pistonheads.com/Gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Basically some chap is scared of cheese so has to ask what to eat, someone comes up with the superbly terrible:

I would then expand slowly and try out chesire, wensleydale and stilton...

Moving on from there to soft cheeses and edam, before tackling some of the stronger imports.

Cheese after dinner is lovely. A cheese party sounds like a synonym for cottaging.
