This is the best thread on PH. Let's not ruin it with handbags, there are plenty of places here to do that

Ok so not quite a thread just one particular post, OP seems like a decent person it's just this one line makes my toes curl.
it's in response to his 2012 Black Audi TT (it does look nice if I'm honest)

I am very fortunate to own such a car, it really is such a privilege and I don't take it for granted, but I am modest about it. But it certainly turns heads, and when I turn up to pick a young lady up on a date, the look on their face is a worth it.

Just cringe when I read it

Hahahaha!

Probably the only forum where so much rage could surface over an argument about whether you train for 3.5 or 4 days in a week if you train every other day.

How has the last few pages of the Match thread not earned a mention?

It's been hideous.

What, a several hundred page internet forum thread about it workers going on dates?
I think it is just accepted as so obvious that it isn't worth posting

Unfortunately it has been removed, so cannot read it.

It sounds like more evidence that people perceive reactions to their car to be precisely what they hope/want them to be. In my experience many girls don't give too much of a monkeys about cars - and (no longer my experience per se) it would take something classic or expensive to garner some sort of visual reaction from their fizog.

  • Unless the OP is 18 and said ladies are also 18 - in which case a TT would be doing pretty well and as such being impressed is more warranted of course.
Also, people only ever use the phrase 'head turner' on pretty mundane cars... he is chuffed with his car, and more power to him as it is great that he has something he enjoys. But I would bet money that the head turning is predominantly in his imagination.

I'd say it's out of bounds for mockery, it's a bunch of PHers genuinely asking for advice and a bit of moral support/guidance. Mat/ChemicalChaos's tinder profile aside... (Only joking Mat!)

I agree with everything you say I just meant the actual sentence made me cringe, even if I were the OP and I believed every word of the sentence I would never say it to anyone or put it in writing it just sounds extremely cringey (is that a word?)

It's largely the advice that's cringeworthy.

He's talking about a comment made in the thread pertaining to that topic, as he made abundantly clear.

That is amazing - just Wow.

It has everything - they get cross; the OP has spectacular conviction they are right, despite being clearly and obviously wrong, realising it then changing the premis of their argument to try and claim they were right all along, just misunderstood; it devolves into name calling and then they start talking about their bodyfat.

Amazing.
