My apologies for missing this earlier, I was too busy giving my gamekeeper orders for this season's meat and trying to find my old Patek beater in the drawer.
One of you and Mark are coming across as a bit of an idiot.... and its not Mark laugh

Link or it didn't happen, Podie. You know how this works.
It took a bit of digging, but I found it.

To be honest that doesn't really sound at all cringey - just a guy really enjoying his new toy!

Although my favourite on page 1 is the guy who has a solution to the problem with the tyre pressure monitoring system...

I think we need a thread bemoaning that slightly dim people are still allowed to buy Astons apparently... wink

So "pulling the trigger" in contextual towards cringe? Trigger pulling on a watch or whisky is cringe, but not when buying a car?

fk me, there are some rules around this? confused

Seriously, it's not the first time on there that someone has complained about their TPMS giving them spurious messages only for a visit to the air machine somehow making the problem magically disappear. They are a special lot down in that area of PH.

Pretty clearly a windup laugh I wonder if anyone will take the bait.

On another note, some people in this thread are trying way too hard and just posting random st that isn't cringeworthy in any way. Though it seems this thread disappears up its own arse every 5 pages or so anyway.

It hasn't improved much since, although it's taking the edge off a boring night in. That and the drink.

The phrase 'pulling the trigger' is a bit of a naff cliché - but otherwise, he's excited about fulfilling a dream. More power to him.

Podie was making comment that everything with that phrase gets posted in here, yet for some reason this one is different? See few pages back for the "pulling the trigger" on whisky that was posted. And repeat about 20 times for other posts previously.

In my mind (which is a very strange place at times) it's purely the phrase "pulling the trigger" that makes me cringe. It's up there with "blue sky thinking" and "out of the box". The whisky thread itself wasn't cringe - it was for an investment and nothing cringeworthy about that, and the Aston thread isn't cringe either - I'd be fking bouncing off the wall if I'd just taken delivery of a new Aston, it's purely the "pull the trigger" comment.

It becomes more "cringey" to me when it's used for everyday purchases - such as tyres for a BMW.

Imagine this scenario...

Lunchtime today, you decide to go for lunch with a work colleague to the pub. You look at the menu and wonder whether you should have a salad or say fk it & have a full English. You mention this dilemma to your colleague & he responds with "I'm going to pull the trigger on a steak pie".

You seriously can't tell me you wouldn't want to stab him in the eye with a fork.

Now let this be the end of the "pulling of the trigger". It's nearly as bad as when it all goes a bit "Hereford" in here.

That's a good one. Reminds me of those posts from people with dogs. They desperately, desperately want their dogs to be terrifying so they'll come off with 'no burglars mess with me - 6 stone of petrifying rottie takes care of that, harhar'.

Much like the truck that fella is driving, the rest of the world just doesn't give a fk. Be that 44 tonnes of stheap truck or a drooling, happy and contented rottweiler.
