That happened ages ago, maybe I should have used a smiley to show that I was posting ironically wink
As I think I said a few pages back - "Jumped the shark? This fker's harnessed the bugger and riding it all the way!!!"

(Said very, very, quietly of course wink

It's his money.

I never understood people complaining about how others spend their money. If it's theirs, they can (and should) do what they like with it, so long as it's legal.

My mother takes the piss that I get my bedsheets laundered. Thinks it's a total waste of money. And that's, what, £13.50 a pop?

Different strokes.
Just to say I wasn't having a go at people who spend that much, only that it completely baffled me!

A t-shirt doesn't exactly contain that much material, I would have assumed that once you reached around £100 or so you would already have the best material and amazing quality of manufacture. Obviously not according to some companies out there!
I guess that's partly true, but it's also a result of us being conditioned to cheap t-shirts. If they were made in the west then the labour costs would be much higher, rather than the pittance a lot of the workers are paid. Yes, the companies also add a lot of profit, but they still "should" be a lot higher if everyone in the chain was treated properly.

Not necessarily the thread (it's a generic cycling thread - they're all the same) but this post is a beauty:

Everybody I know that is sporty in some way. Gym weights, Swim, Runs whatever (regularly mind, not the girls in the office going Zumba or Kettelbells once a month)

Also rides a bike. Maybe not every day, but they will use it as Cardio in addition to their other chosen activity. Often it'll be commuting (work or gym) a few days a week rather than a 100K at the weekend. There's probably something in that.

Some even use it to keep them right for their day job.

Whats the context? Sounds like he is just explaining why people ride bikes, probably to some standard PH style idiot who claims they wouldn't ride a bicycle if somebody paid them...

Summary - OP has 3 glasses of wine, then JD and Coke. Walks home, somehow 'finds himself in car', crashes car, tells Plod drink was spiked.

Cringeworthy ? Foolish ?

Undecided.

I've been thinking the same...

the thread seems to have taken off like a frog in a sock! And all because of some 'he said, she said tatt' on Twitter - 'The State survailence system manned by gullible idiots'

Oh come on! I'll blame the phone for the typo and the quote I pinched from Stewart Lee.
