It was getting heated, it would have been quicker & easier to delete the thread, but it was purged instead; that deserved a thank you.
[Jumps in]I'm just going to jump in and say, it's not that difficult to delete multiple individual posts from a forum ...

Who cares? Really, who cares? If a post of mine gets deleted, I don't see the point in whining like a little bh, it's not like anything has been physically taken from me, it's just a few pixels on a screen.
I don't understand the emotional attachment people are having to words they've typed online and the hysteria over the deletion of inappropriate content. Who cares what happened in the past either? We used to hang people for stealing a Mars bar, now it's frowned upon. Similarly, the site has moved on and it seems poking fun at dead people isn't really the done thing. Deal with it.
fk me, your lives don't start and end on Pistonheads.

Most of them have double standards though, sometimes it is like they have created their won little handbook for their own ends, rather than a consensus of general rules.
There's certainly one mod who seems to enjoy getting stuck in a bit too much. Someone could do with having a word.NPI said:

Usually when that state, the thread would be deleted rather than purged however.

Except mods aren't providing a service to you, they are providing a service to Haymarket/PH.
Do you thank traffic wardens?
Of course they are, they are providing a service to all the users of PH forumsDo you thank traffic wardens?
The woman at the till/coffee machine are at least paid to provide their service to me, does that mean they are not worthy of thanks too?
Actually, yes, the last time I had interaction with a Traffic Warden I did thank him, he was helpful & I didn't get a ticket when I should have!
I've seen the cringe thread.
Yet another "Sir Chris of Harris should be on Top Gear he's so amazing" blah blah blah.
Good lord.

Why?
Why do grown men (assuming they are) bother to blow smoke up his arse. Is it because they hope he'll read their posts and invite them for a one-on-one drive in a P1 by the Italian lakes, wind in his hair, sun glistening of his perfect white teeth, flies nestling into his beard like a mother tucks up a child in bed....
Hmm. I'm off to post!
Sir Chris of Harris, I'm cooooming!
