Almost erect.
You could have hung upsidedown for the photos or attached some helium balloons. smile

Well done. A full week of looking silly for a good cause. clap

Update - still waiting for some of the pledges for the Pink Mohican to be paid frown Lesson learned, don't do anything until the £££ is paid!

BIG News bounce

The Pub du Vin, at Birmingham's Hotel du Vin have very generously agreed to allow me to have my hair shaved off in their premises at lumchtime on 29th November.

The Head Shave will include an auction to be allowed to cut the initial ponytail off (my pony tail is currently 20” long so that it can be donated to the Little Princess Trust, who make wigs for children); and an auction to be allowed to shave off the remaining hair with clippers, as well as a raffle with prizes donated by Family and Friends. It’s going to be a fantastic event thanks to the generous support from Hotel du Vin. The more money I raise, the more free care Marie Curie Nurses can provide to terminally ill people in their own homes or at one of the charity’s hospices.

Pub du Vin is less than 10 minutes from Birmingham's Snow Hill and New Street train stations and you'll find ample car parking on street and in nearby NCP carparks - please feel free to come & watch (and donate!!) and put some names to other PHrs smile

Today marks a year since we were given the diagnosis of Mum's stomach cancer, 6 weeks later she was in the Hospice... weeping

It's going to be an emotional journey for me from here to the 29/11 when I have my head shaved, I do hope that you are all supporting me!

thumbup thank you, I hope that she is fit & well soon

I can recommend Bohemia Headwear, if she'd like some super soft head stuff for sleeping in & wearing when she's not using her wig.

  • My wedding venue has donated Dinner, Bed & Breakfast for 2 people
  • Another friend plans to donate some costume jewellery
I also need some advice please. Where is best to auction these items? Ebay? I spoke with them at the weekend and they said I could do it without paying the fees as I'm dontating 100% to charity, but I need to be set up as a charity (inc bank accounts etc) in order to do so..

Maybe try gumtree or advertising in the paper?

Could advertise ebay but state cash on collection

I think you can say its 100% for charity when list an item and would when you do that they would be no fees involved...

It needs to be an auction tho frown

No, it has to be linked to the Charity & they pay it direct to them. Which means it wouldn't go to Mum's momory, or even to the local Hospice, but to MC HO.

Not an auction as such but maybe advertise on FB page or group then people PM highest offer in a timeframe and biggest one you receive wins?
