Prescription Sunglasses

I lost 3 pairs of prescription glasses varifocals and reactolite, last year which cost me in total over a grand so have been using cheap reading glasses.
I am going together a couple of prescription glasses again and hope I can take better care of them this time

I've had prescription sunglasses for years now, always buy them at the same time as normal glasses, from the optician (in my case Vision Express).........

I don't buy them for fashion but to be able to see so don't really care too much about the frames (prescription is > -10 in both eyes) so just get the ones that sort of look OK, and don't have the lenses thinned (unlike my regular glasses) as I don't actually wear the sunglasses that much....

Not sure I'd trust any of the online companies to get it right given that my eyes have zero tolerance to the prescription.....

Hope your getting on OK, I need some urgently so anyone know of any online places or stick to spec savers where it'll cost around £170 for 2 pairs

I bought some prescription Oakley "Straight Jacket" style sunglasses (with proper Oakley lenses - they have the "o" on the lenses) from www.rxsport.co.uk.

Cost £288 all in (polarised black iridium lenses with coating).

Not affiliated with them but great service and cheapest genuine Oakley frames and prescription lenses I could find on the Internet.

Very pleased. So much better than the prescription raybans I got from a well known high street optician which turned out not to have official rayban lenses in them.....

Also, get polarised lenses. Much much better than non-polarised.

Just tried a spec on Ray-Bans with varifocals and photocromic lenses. Came out less than my standard varifocals from Vision Express, and they're basic frames!

i used to hate the holiday/bright light conundrum of glasses and contact lenses. Got my eyes lasered 7 years ago and it's been worth every penny. Errr... that's it.

Well, have, have to disagree on that point. Hopeless if you need to look at a digital display on your dashboard or a mobile.

Fine if you want to look at a goldfish in a pond.
