It's not the urinals, look at the tiles.

thats annoying...

Did you know on the A10 warthog they had to offset the cannon on the nose so that it fired along the center line of the plane exactly as the recoil was so fierce it would turn the plane slightly, so the following rounds would not be on target.

I thought it was the front landing gear that was offset, so the cannon could set on the centerline. Where's Eric Mc when you need him?

It's basically both.

You can see that the gun is offset to the left, however, the barrel that does the firing is the one that's along the centreline of the aircraft. (Look at the picture and it makes sense)

The front landing gear does indeed also have to be offset because of the space taken up by the gun.

Agreed. The gun is off set so that that landing gear can fit down the side. Essentially they need to occupy the same space so both have to compromise and shift one way or the orher. Rotating the the gun so that the firing barrel is on the center line is to compensate for the required offset.

Should have clarified. During the design program, the whole front end was packaged around the gun. It is necessary to have the firing barrel on CL so the recoil didn't change the trajectory of the following rounds, hence the rotating barrels are offset to the left.

Because the gun takes up the centre and left hand package space in the nose, then the landing gear had to be offset to the right. In this case "that" cannon determined the whole design of the front end....

And these are the bullets it fires. At a rate of up to 4200/min. That's 70 per second.

I've fired its smaller brother (M61 Vulcan Cannon) many times. It was "only" 20mm and 3000 rounds per minute (50 per second), but still an impressive thing to fire smile
