Having had my hours cut back at work for the next few weeks or so, I now find myself having a few Monday's and Tuesday's off at home!

Normally can find plenty to do! Cleaning the car mainly, sometimes the house and garage if needs be!

Different ideas such as even going for a run / cycle / walks are all nice things to do and better than sitting around I find! Plus if it's raining it's always a good excuse to get on the PS3 and catch up on that!

Venturing out is always a little bit nicer too, without all the weekend crowds! smile

ETA : I'm 22!

22.

My days off are a Monday and Friday. Monday I tend to end up shopping with the GF because it's our only day off together.

Friday is housework, mainly. I try to get out and about, but we are sharing a car at the moment, so I'm restricted to either cycling or just walking the dog.

I live over 300 miles away from all my mates. Those I've met all work offshore, or are mid 50's. Those offshore invite me to things, football, skiing, getting drunk, but always at the weekend when I'm working.

Jeez, I'm starting to feel sorry for myself. One more year and I'm done with education and I can have a social life again.

My other half and I are in our new house 2 years and I usually find things to do around the house or garden. Other than that, washing the car, taking the german shepherd out or meeting friends is what else I usually get up to.

Think I get something like 170 days off a year so I actually start to get a bit bored!

I get four days off in a row due to the way my shifts work.

Aged 24, spend a lot of my time with my wife and 2 children,Both under 2 years. Try and go mountain biking with family/friends when I get a chance. Very rarely go out at the moment. Just the nature of the beast we chose.

Wouldn't trade it for the world. Currently off work and playing with Brio!

22 year old teacher, I've ended up in a similar position, most of my mates are spread hundreds of miles away due to uni, and I moved away from the mates I made in uni to be with the missus. Decided to take up golf smile not much luck in work, teachers can be a right miserable lot! I've found myself wasting away my limited spare time on the internet and xbox so a hobby was needed.

OT: someone mentioned about this generation being over-exposed to the internet, 200 channels of sh*te, etc. It is very very very much true! This is why I mentioned the teacher part, although I'm almost as guilty myself - our senses are so bombarded these days, especially kids who use ipads and have permanent kids tv from the age of 2/3, they often struggle to find something 'natural' interesting.

I realise that doesn't make much sense, but hopefully some will get it smile

How long have you been teaching for? I'm in my first year. I love teaching but I've never been in a job with such staggeringly low morale!

And suddenly I seem to have become one of the miserable lot! wink

31 and rebuilding my brothers boat. I love DIY tbh. A bag of tools and random material and I'm happy as a pig in st. I can't wait to buy a house.

If I'm not doing that then I'm just wasting my life tbb, I really need to get off my arse.

I'm 31. My wife doesn't work full time, but if I'm off when she's working then I tend to lounge around at home all day. Playing on the PS3, playing football manager, watching films and browsing the web. When she gets home I feel like I've wasted a day.

I don't have any real hobbies anymore. I used to play football and golf, but due to arthritis I can't easily do that anymore. Plus I have no friends.

You're not a real man 'til you've spent a solid week playing Football Manager in your underpants.

I usually just read and ignore my emails. I like going to a pub where no one knows me and reading a book over a couple of pints, followed by a curry.

Wanna be friends? laugh

I've moved away from the town I grew up in (though it's only an hour away), all mates (me included) have kids and my uni mates are scattered across the UK.

Tell me about it. I've just won the champions league for the 6th time and taken charge of England. Serious business football management.

I like that idea. I can't do moderation though, so I'd end up in the pub at lunch time and stay there until curry time. By which time I would be absolutely smashed.

32, mostly spend time building and painting wargames stuff, mainly for ebay profit or competition.

Rebuildng my CBR 400 and restoring myDC5 daily to standard and shiny.

Playing wargames with my mates whilst getting rather pissed (most of us worked in the trade at some point in some fashion).

Otherwise its TV boxsets with the Mrs, walks in the local area (Aberdeenshire) or reading.

37 - married - 14 month old daughter - a son on the way - a house needing much work and 2x V8's = Charlie is a busy boy ;-)

I struggle to see my friends enough, I arrange a boys breakfast every few months and have started a new rota so we each host it at our houses which is good fun - also the odd Poker night.

I used to be a rep for various car clubs, but that has gone out of the window as I just don't have the time anymore :-(

41 and married but no kids. I've got three motorbikes and a car keep me busy riding/driving/tinkering, plus we go to loads of festivals and watch a lot of live music. We're also lucky where we live in a nice part of Reading, within walking distance of the Thames, 15 minutes cycle into open countryside, but 30 mins fast train to Paddington to do things in the big city. Often we'll play at being tourists in London, so much to see and do (that needn't cost the earth). I'm also learning guitar very slowly. All of that doesn't give me much other spare time, life is pretty full on!

Impossible. You'll never escape Cliftonville alive.

Although having said that, I've started routing my long evening runs through dodgy parts of the medway towns, just for the thrill of it.
