I'm 24 and my days off are a mix of tinkering with my car, going to the gym, playing battlefield 4 and ferocious masturbation. I also do a bit of mountain biking, but that has to coincide with my mates days off from work as we go together.

I've met quite a few PHers now and they are all brilliant people! Best part is we rarely talk about cars!

Day off through the week? Generally a lie-in, and if the weather is good then head out for a long run somewhere in the hills. If the weather is bad then it's housework and paperwork.

Day off at weekend? Either rallying or cleaning the cars.

Aged 29 and starting to feel old.

Take up a new activity/sport that gets you outside or meeting people. I've made loads of friends through running clubs/groups for example.
Running club looks like a good idea, is your first time quite daunting? Once i know someone i can talk a lot but a bit nervous initiating anything.
I started running as a complete novice in 2002. I was new to the area and didn't know a soul. My running club mates have been brilliant to me.

Do a google search for local clubs and as ewenm says, parkrun is great. It might be an idea to start some running on your own so that when you join you are not miles behind. Have a look on their web sites for social stuff, the more social stuff the better. My sister in law was looking to join a running club and one of the said that they would put you down to do races. No you bloody well won't, you do races if you want to,avoid this type of club. She joined the one that went on the piss a lot, just like mine. The club I'm in (sister in laws is the same) has a huge range of runners from boarder line elite to ultra marathon runners to pretty fast club runners right the way back to people that run at what for me is a brisk walk. There have been flings, affairs, marriages, babies and even a death.

Take the girl friend along too.

And how old are you?

I seem to be losing more friends the older i get and i no longer have friends who like to go out for a good old pissup on the weekends. I find on my days off i have nothing to do except go to the shop, gardening or the gym. It depresses me that i seem to live such a boring life at 25 but people are just drifting further away the older we all get.

Help, and i have a girlfriend and do stuff with her and my mate comes round a couple of times a week but apart from that i seem to havd nothing to do and im getting bored.

Id like something to do where maybe i could meet people aswell.
If you have a friend who comes round to your house a few times a week, you probably see your friends more often than most men in their 20s.

I'm mid 20s, on a day off I'll play my xbox, watch tv / Netflix with the mrs, go out with the mrs, play guitar, go out for a ride on my motorbike - group ride or solo if no one else is free. I go out with my brother to check out the local motorcycle dealerships, occasionally go clay pidgeon shooting with a friend, go out for something to eat with my mates etc. I know some strange people who don't enjoy annual leave from work and say that they feel bored and don't have anything to do - wtf is wrong with these people? I like my job but I love being off work, it's just ace.

Im 38 im a stay at home dad/property developer. When i get chance for a day off I'm off to France/Belgium/Holland for the day. Love my time alone, probably go once a month or so. Ill go to a little Chinese resturant in Cadzand-bad in Holland. Then back to Brugge for a beer,a quick sniff around the red-light district in Oostende, if I've got time ill pop to Timms, which is a gun and knife shop, maybe after this ill have some seafood from one of the many seafood stalls along the seafront or a cheeky omelette from one of the restaurant also on the seafront. Then its back to the boat then home.

Op where abouts in the uk are you? is the there a port/railway station/airport near to you?
How deep are your pockets?

Just remember friends come and go, i only have maybe 3 people i call real friends.

Don't get any time off with 3 children.

Infact I don't get time to wipe my arse properly never mind join a bike club or go running.

The only running I do is running my daughter to her boyfriends and st like that.

OP - Enjoy the free time you have to do nothing. Just relax and savour the silence

34 with a toddler mine is spent either cleaning up the house, DIY, taking the lad out, outside DIY and cleaning the cars/drive etc.
My days off used to be spent tinkering and polishing my cars or with mates climbing through scrap yards etc or just totally chilling reading xbkx or movies etc.
We still manage nights out to the cinema. Don't do many nights out drinking but thats something thats just tailed off over the years gradually.
I used to try and get out once or twice a month with a mate mostly playing pool and a few drinks but the local pool place closed and we've never got round to sorting a new place out.

31. Ferrying 3 kids about, doing crap around the house, tinkering with the ST24 which I could have roadworthy in a week but is taking ages because I get ten minutes in and then get dragged into doing something else I have been putting off for six months.

33. lifestyle at the moment is very similar to that when i graduated - i.e, have a job but still a very active social scene. just now i have more cash and better toys.

trackdays, tinkering with cars, dune bashing, drinking, bbq's, cycling/circuit training, meals out etc. very rarely stuck for anything to do and even then i really love sleeping so half a day in bed at the weekend is always welcome!

hasn't always been thus. late 20's every spare minute and penny went on renovating a house. that's 4yrs of my life i won't get back!

35, at the moment my days off are spend ragging the bike around trackdays or going to security conferences.

If your co-ordination is bad then do something to improve it, I'd suggest trying martial arts. Mine is also very poor, have started up doing Tae Kwan Do and it's really helping a lot. Felt bit daft starting and I still make a lot of mistakes but found a school that is very helpful. It's also a good way to meet people although that will take time. You may need to try a couple as they do vary. Other ways to meet people, perhaps do an evening course in something that interests you at local college.

It's pretty hard to make new friends as you get older.

I'm over 40 now and my best mates have moved 200-400 miles away so it's not easy to meet up for a coffee and a chat anymore!
I tried joining a few clubs, night courses etc and you do meet people but it's not always on a level where you become good friends, maybe just more acquaintances who meet up for the odd night out.

Through the internet I've met lots of people through a car club I help run. However again most of them live miles away from me so it's great when we meet up but not like I see them every month.

I almost envy folk who have stayed in the same place since childhood and still have those childhood friends. However on the other hand I could never have just stayed where I grew up as a youngster.
