I dont drive nor can afford an inspiring car.
hey, you don't need a powerful car to have fun, you can have fun trying to extract as much as you can out of a lower powered one.

having a slow car just means if you want to go fast you have to try and maintain as much speed as you can in the corners, which is good practise when you get a more powerful car as you know all about perfecting your racing lines and maintaing speed.

hell, i think i had the most fun on the road on a sports 125 2 stroke that made about 30bhp (did only weigh about 130kg wet though)

the thing with massive powered cars are just you cannot really use anywhere near the full power on the road, and if you do, your probably going to loose your licence and risk jail time.
you could do your CBT get a 125 bike and just bimble around having fun in the corners and even meet like minded people who are into bikes.

even a boggo courier bike like an er500 or gs500 will shift compared to most normal cars and can be picked up for very little

do your bike licence, get a bike, get over to Bike banter part of this forum, and get talking and even meet with other bikers off hear at BNaB, by all accounts its much better than BTaP as there is not snobbery about fast cars and expensive watches, I mean, they even let LiamB come, and he is not even old enough to buy himself a beer or ride a proper bike, and he didn't even bring enough money for food lol,

there thats an example, you don't have to follow it, but that kind of thing

And how old are you?

I seem to be losing more friends the older i get and i no longer have friends who like to go out for a good old pissup on the weekends. I find on my days off i have nothing to do except go to the shop, gardening or the gym. It depresses me that i seem to live such a boring life at 25 but people are just drifting further away the older we all get.

Help, and i have a girlfriend and do stuff with her and my mate comes round a couple of times a week but apart from that i seem to havd nothing to do and im getting bored.

Id like something to do where maybe i could meet people aswell.
You need a new exciting girlfriend. So start dating.

Don't get any time off with 3 children.

Infact I don't get time to wipe my arse properly never mind join a bike club or go running.

The only running I do is running my daughter to her boyfriends and st like that.

OP - Enjoy the free time you have to do nothing. Just relax and savour the silence
It's crazy how kids come to the door to talk to you even when you in the loo or on the phone.

Im 38 im a stay at home dad/property developer. When i get chance for a day off I'm off to France/Belgium/Holland for the day. Love my time alone, probably go once a month or so. Ill go to a little Chinese resturant in Cadzand-bad in Holland. Then back to Brugge for a beer,a quick sniff around the red-light district in Oostende, if I've got time ill pop to Timms, which is a gun and knife shop, maybe after this ill have some seafood from one of the many seafood stalls along the seafront or a cheeky omelette from one of the restaurant also on the seafront. Then its back to the boat then home.

Op where abouts in the uk are you? is the there a port/railway station/airport near to you?
How deep are your pockets?

Just remember friends come and go, i only have maybe 3 people i call real friends.
You sound single, rich and happy (gay) - lucky you.

I'm not a great socialiser and spend most of my free time at home. Seeing as I work offshore 6 months out of every 12, I get a lot of time around the house......

But I have hobbies, build cars, make furniture, generally DIY stuff. In the evenings I drink beer with the wife, in the back yard, or the street, maybe some friends will come round. Maybe once a fortnight at most I go down the titty bar street, on my own, or with the wife.

I basically don't have many 'best friends', just several guys I get along with, we meet up once in a while, drink beer, tell stories and generally BS.

On weekends I play video games, cricket and do a bit of training for a rowing event I have in a couple of months etc. We also meet friends for lunch or dinner pretty much every weekend. On days off during the week when I decide I want to use a holiday day I tend to do life admin type stuff (Bills, DIY type things etc) and play games / catch up on TV series.

Joining the cricket club and doing the rowing challenge were, for me, the best things I've done in terms of getting me out and meeting new friends in a club where I live. Video games are my mental switch off but I do play a lot online with friends who are online only - always a good for banter though

39, I work every Saturday so have a day off during the week which is nice as the wife is at work and the youngest is at school.

So I go to the gym, potter about, walk the dog and usually go to town for a few bits and bobs, I may pop and see the eldest and my grandson; they live the other side of town to us so are not too far away.

I like my own company and am not a massive socialiser and don't really have any close friends to spend my days off with.

Sundays; if I'm not working as I work 1 in 3, is usually time with the wife so first thing I'll got to the gym, I'm an early riser so will be up way before the wife and the youngest. We will take the dog for a long walk later in the day and then just take the rest of the day as it comes; together.

42. I normally spend my spare time running, mtb or road bike or messing with my project bike build. I'm lucky as I don't have kids, but it still wouldn't interfere with my spare time, always need spanner holder!

It does seem to be a growing thing people saying they are bored or lacking ideas of what to do. I see it with my wife's kids. They have a constant need to be provided with stimulation & struggle to find things to do unless provided. Is this the result of 100 channels of st on the TV and the internet? Who knows.

Frankly the idea of being bored with nothing to do, amazes me. I don't think I could ever get bored or run out of things to do.

I'm certain the internet and masses of tv channels has an impact on how people get bored and say they have nothing to do. Our niece would rather play outside, ride her bike, chase butterfly's than be sat in front of a tv/PC.

@ queen bee. Nope, married have a six year old boy and we're comfortable. Boat is £30 for the crossing I'm only 20mins from Dover so probably get through £25-£30 in derv for the whole trip. A lot of people get through a lot more than that in an evening out on the piss.

May sound a bit strange, or no more that ph meets I suppose, but I started riding mountain bikes more. Joined some of the selling pages on Facebook and they seem to organise get togethers at trails centers. Good way to get out and meet people.

I'd go indoor climbing. Many centres have boards for people to advertise their skill level and availability. You'll probably find loads of people free during your days off. Aim for afternoons and let your session drift into the evening to meet even more climbers.

I'm 40 and work in the Shetlands for two weeks a month, during my (limited) time off from work up here I go running or exploring and photographing this stunningly beautiful part of the world.

At home I'm a full time dad again and have few hobbies outside of taking the kids to/from school, DIY and lengthy dog walks (not dogging biggrin) with my wife and our mental Lab. I have got back into Mountain Biking again (we're blessed with loads of great tracks near here in Shropshire/Wales) and am really enjoying the social side of it too, meeting up with other school dads for the day and blasting some trails. Also just getting back into flying for fun again and have signed back up to fly Air Cadets at my local Air Experience Flight....if my wife lets me wink

One thing I have noticed, as I've got older, is I want to fit far more into every day as I now realise how precious our time is. I adore video games (Must.....resist....World....of....Tanks) but rarely play them anymore as I'd rather do something more productive teacher
