I wouldn't want a rust ridden fiesta parked on my street either tbh.

Nor would I, but since I don't own any streets, it isn't a concern.

I know the area of Sevenoaks under discussion. Close to the road in question there is a school which is a complete and utter nightmanre to drive past at certain times of the day. I would hazard a guess that the no parking weekdays restriction was put in place to try to protect the residents from the school run carnage that happens there, and I mean carnage. It has to be witnessed to be believed. If you have a spare hour or so to burn in that area one weekday during term time it is good entertainment to park well clear and stroll down the road to take a look at the proceedings (but keep you wits about you for off roaders operating off road and on pavement). Usually the school run mums ignore all parking restrictions as saving their little darling from walking a short distance is their highest priority and God given right.

It is still a bit of a yomp from there into Sevenoaks town if you intend to buy stuff and carry it back to the car but I can see the way it could become a handy parking area as the council car parks in town fill up. (Another entertaining day out is to watch the antics in Blighs Meadow car park on a Saturday, gobsmacking).

No this old geezer had no right to demand a car to be shifted and his actions cannot be justified. But I can see the increasing levels of frustration in the residents that their attempts to avoid possible future chaos at weekends by getting the parking restrictions extended have been refused.
