We played Reading in 97 - Melody Maker Stage/Tent. First on the bill on the Friday hehe

Started off with about three people sitting down going 'who the fk are these blokes?' - by the end of the set it was rammed.

Happy days.

Went to University in 1990, then onto work. Did some fun things in this decade but never really "got it" in the way I got other decades.

I am a very nostalgic person. Born in the 1970s it was a decade I loved. The 80s were amazing. The 2000s were outstanding too, but for some reason the '90s leave me cold.

In Mark & Lard speak, that's the headline act, because everybody else comes AFTER you, and can't do anything until you've finished hehe

Just looked who else played, Reading down the list there are some great bands but then i saw Kenickie laugh no matter how rubbish they were Lauren Laverne has done ok out of it. I quite like her tbh.

Nah, that's not a cool story - a cool story would be something like... shooting a video in Poland, the Director getting lairy with a barmaid, we have a punch up with the local mafia, him setting fire to the hotel and us getting chased to the airport by secret police and then getting throw out of the country.

My brothers lodger constantly watched these for days.

Little did 10yr old me know he was off his face most the time I just thought they were cool videos.

Tape packs helter skelter,raindance,vibealite
The ease kids like me and my mates could get hold of bb guns, air pistols, fireworks, fire crackers, pen knifes all a postal order away in magazines or the school trips to france where all those could be bought and brought back easily.
Penny bombs
Dens.
Being out for hours in the summer hols without any of our parents worrying I doubt there are many parents like this left thanks to the DM and the sun.
I swear alot of the sweets/junk tasted better back then before everyone went hyper about e numbers etc maybe just my tasebuds changing but when I buy some 90s sweets for nostalgia they don't seem the same.

A great tale to tell. Do you still go back, as a punter?

Collecting Pogs out of Shreddies packets, having a seperate computer in each classroom running Windows 3.1 or later Windows 95, and I could swear that winters had more snow, and summers were hotter for longer!
