I used to thing I was The Man wearing mine paperbag
They look like the jackets you always saw the Bosnians / Serbs etc wearing during the Yugoslav civil war.

Yup, I had a one with a storm hood, which was day glow pink. I must have looked like a bell end. But I am sure I had it in 89. It had some sort of reflection thing in case you were buried in an avalanche.

What about "The Word" with the northern bloke and Dani Behr...

..mmmm.. Dani Behr....

what ? ahem, yes anyway.... Red Dwarf on the tele too.

Watching F1 practice sessions on Eurosport, I had Mondays & Fridays off college.. can remember turning the TV on and the picture appearing (CRT remember! they took a second or two to warm up!) to see a V12 Ferrari going sideways through a chicane - Alesi of course!

Ocean Colour Scene's The day we caught the train
I can remember the girl from Skunk Anansie on some TV show nervously giggling like a schoolgirl, then getting up and screaming her head off singing Weak.
Weller back on form after poncing around on keyboards and singing french in the 80s
Garbage, Sleeper, The Charlatans, Kula Shaker, Cast, The La's There she goes,

I can distinctly remember hearing and seeing the video for Suede's Animal Nitrate and thinking all the new music and bands appearing were awesome and a rather straight laced mate being visibly uncomfortable "But he's weird" he said, he preferred Janet Jackson!

Seeing Ash, pretty much the same age as us.. bds!

Loads more bands...

Aye, "Recco" - stitched into the sleeve in my jacket.

Added to the cool factor, I thought hehe

On a PH note, after market Clifford Alarms. Especially the one that had the medley of annoying sounds/tones.

Remeber the Vector alarms? One of the local geezers in my mothers street had a white Mk2 Astra GTE and took great pride in jumping out and pressing the button which would announce to the street "Vector Armed" only if he pressed it more by mistake it was "Vector Armed", "Vector Disarmed", "Vector Armed"... Shaddup already.

Touring. I spent the late 90's on stage and I really miss it.

E's, Acid, Ganja and subsonic bass - the good life!

From the Roses to the Ragga Twins and everything in between. The music WAS way better - mainly because the loudness wars had yet to start in earnest.

Manchester.

Skinning up in the morning.

Mariokart. Super Bomber Man. Wipeout. Zelda. Goldeneye.

Whole cities without coffee shops.

Sankey's. Lost. Aba Shanti-I when he played in peoples houses!

Norwood, Streatham, Tooting and Clapham as they used to be before dark hordes of Mordor came over the river.

Way too much coke toward the end. The 90's ended badly for quite a few of us.

Not having a mobile
Not having the internet
The sound of dial up modems connecting, and having to wait till after 6pm so the calls were cheaper
Getting in from school on a Friday to watch robot wars
Being allowed to stay up late to watch red dwarf, much to my mums disapproval.
Ondigital tv
The verve
Pogs
Yoyos
Micro machines

Doesn't seem to have been any mention of Waynes World (1992). I'm sure a few of you used to go round going 'schwing!!' when you saw a hot girl. wink

Some things here I remember and some I don't (I was 7 at the start of the 90's) but a great many things I do remember.

I don't think anybody has mentioned Crystal Maze yet - that was a great show.
