Serious question though - given the opportunity to trip or pill on the drugs that were available then, would you do it now in the environment you are currently in?
I don't think I would.
Good question. Hardly touch anything these days apart from sipping on decent single malts, but back in the 90s it was a different story.I don't think I would.
Spent 1996 at this mind-blowing place at the age of 29. http://theanarchistlibrary.org/library/meir-turnia...
Serious amounts of weed and LSD were administered. Minds were seriously blown.
It's a bit like the teenage driving thread... I look back and think that it's pure, pure luck that I'm still relatively together. I did OD once - nearly died. Didn't slow me down one bit. I was a total idiot, an absolute fool. We come from a generation who look at the opening page of 'Fear and Loathing...' and think - "well, that's barely a weekends worth" - kids these days are total lightweights.
What I have learned though - is that a good single malt is the best drug. By miles. Give me a Yamazaki any day and I'm smiling.

A fine wine is my opium now, so to speak.
Just pleased I'm still around to enjoy it. Been a few times in the past where I haven't been confident I'd wake up the next morning.

Going with my dad to the pub on my 18th for my first pint!
Well first he'd bought me and first I'd bought him.
Local pub (The Coach House at Heads Nook - Outskirts of Carlisle) which I'd drank in since 16, I knew the bar staff better than my dad did.
Jack Wolfskin jackets
Joe bloggs jeans
Adidas Gazelles
Nike air 180's
White jeans
Went to Paris for the World Cup in 1998
Saw Oasis for the first time in Sheffield in 97 I think it was
Newcastle almost winning the league
Football away days - basically getting chased round whatever town by the local nutters the moment we arrived
Fond memories
