Anyone know anyone at BT / BTOpenzone with some clout...?
Discussion
To be fair, @btcare seem to be pretty hot (dare I say because it's UK-based...?).
I went to use the BT Wi-Fi app the other day to locate a FON hotspot nearby. Signed in, authenticated but not a single hotspot appeared overlaid on the Google Maps image. It's taken a couple of days but they've now fixed the issue in direct response to my tweet.
It is a shame, however, that one has to 'go public' to get things sorted. Much as I hate 'social media', I do use Twitter to get the attention of companies whose far-flung callcentres would a) be running me in circles and b) driving me mad without anything getting done.

I don't see it as "going public" - it's just an open channel for comms that is easy for customers to use. It's not like the press follow it, etc.I went to use the BT Wi-Fi app the other day to locate a FON hotspot nearby. So pleased I found this thread this morning.
I've been trying to get BT Infinity installed for well over 6 weeks now, each time the order is placed, I get a call a few days later saying there is a postcode mismatch with my address (seems odd that it was fine when we were with BT 2 years ago, and that they managed to send a router and TV viewbox here though) the order gets cancelled and then replaced, at which point it fails, they cancel it gets replaced, it fails...... You get the idea
I emailed Gavin Patterson earlier, and have had a response already from a senior customer complaints manager - fingers crossed he can get my order sorted.
