If you business can only survive by breaking the law then it is not a legit business.

If you phone your provider, they can block withheld calls for you. This, I imagine, would reduce the amount of calls they receive to a minimum.
Like the TPS this doesn't work.

Oh and for those who are worried about elderly relatives or friends who may fall for any scams. If you phone your provider, they can block withheld calls for you. This, I imagine, would reduce the amount of calls they receive to a minimum. If you want to go a step further then callblocker or any other product like it would be a good investment for them and cancel out a lot of unwanted calls.
Why should people have to pay not to be harassed, frightened and worried just to allow you to be a scumbag nuisance caller?

I have to say the "defence" of the practise that I've seen on here has just entrenched my views on the kinds of people who do this and their worth.

Anyway as somebody who does work in the industry (I don't know if you could tell). Certainly in our line of work cold calling is our most effective way of getting business, and our business couldn't survive without it. For the record though, we have a 20% conversion rate, go figure, you can't just take 1 example.]
I'm wondering, and I don't expect an answer to this, but what line of business are you in that couldn't survive without cold-calling, and that has a 20% conversion rate?

Genuinely interested since a lot of businesses manage without it.

This will probably be rather tiresome for people now, so I shall make this my last post on this thread I think.
Well let's hope it is, there's really no point in discussing subjects like this with people like you, it's the equivalent of discussing the difference between purple and blue with a blind person.

I'm quite sure that your income in some way relates to cold calling, and you have either developed a positive attitude to cold calling as a way of coping with the guilt, or perhaps you are the sort of person who simply doesn't care how many people are inconvenienced and annoyed by your hunt for 'prospects', and that's what drew you to your line of work in the first place.

Every. Single. fking. Time.
Interesting way to view life. A lot of PHers evidently very set in their ways.

Scared of change at all?
Heh.

Yeah. I'm the blinkered intransigent.
