A truck hit me on the M25 last week and I have all the details (company, driver name, etc) and of course video of the accident but I don't have the reg of the tractor unit just the trailer. I am sure it will be ok but I would like to know the reg.

Can someone go all CSI on the picture below so the reg can be read?

Cheers.

I'd be enormously surprised if anyone can. It's a low resolution pic that's had all hell compressed out of it.

Not sure about the first set of letters but the rest look like 15-8(or 0)7.

This. Exactly & Completely this.

The number plate occupies a region about 90 pixels by 15 and the characters don't occupy the full height. There isn't enough information present to be able to "enhance" it sufficiently to read all characters. FWIW - I did run it through a couple of non-damaging filters - all they managed to do was make the blurry image a bit brighter so the blur was even more obvious.

I take it that is a grab from the video? With several grabs from the video it would be easier to extract the information as there will be multiple samples to recreate the number plate at higher resolution.

You have the reg of the trailer did you say? Isn't that the same number as the tractor unit? Or did I misunderstand confused

I'd say the last 4 digits are TS-87

What was the number plate on the trailer?

Depends on the country of origin - some register trailers (including little domestic ones) as entities in their own right.

Quite. It was a Dutch truck. I often see UK trucks without the tractor units reg on the back just the trailers.

In the UK trailers don't have their own reg as such.

I've only got the video from the front camera as that had the whole incident covered, plus the trucker tailgating every car it came behind, my car is away getting the bumper replaced (third one!) from a previous non fault accident so don't have access to the SD card.

Third one eh? Some people might wonder if there was something about your driving that made you more likely to get rammed up the backside...

Without more pics from the video or the video itself though there is no hope of getting the reg number.

We could guess all day!

Anyway, I think it's two letters/numbers in each block.
