As one might guess, I don't subscribe to this. Life happens, and it's up to you to make what you can of it, but there isn't any big reason for it.

One could say the 'reason' for my life getting permanently changed for the worse was some idiot drinking far too much and then deciding it would be a good idea to drive home.

It really pisses me off when people say everything happens for a reason. I can't get back on my feet as I literally have no feet to get back onto. My legs won't ever grow back and it's still many, many years until prosthetics can even begin to offer a proper replacement for ones original limbs.

It sounds like I'm bitter, but I'm not really. I just believe that life happens because well, its life and it has a tendency to happen. There is no big plan or reason, and to be perfectly honest I highly doubt that I will ever see losing my legs as a good thing. I can take good things from it, but that isn't the same.

As I said, don't worry about it. I know what you meant and no offence was caused I assure you!

I'm going to blame the evolution thread for that outburst, I had just finished reading and probably felt the need to lash out. Unfortunately for you it was that comment that I saw!

Peace beer

I read something yesterday. 23 links nearly everything. All is connected through it. And here we are facing vol 23. Me, I can't believe that at all. But hang on, what is this here? This sentence is 23 letters. They are all 23 letters long. I fear now this twenty three.

Dicky and the trivia thread.

That should have been a clue.

The same length, every time.

Save yourselves people, now.

If we're going biblical; Song of Solomon 2:3 never fails to get a giggle in youth service scriptures (part of the job) though my sweet and innocent mind never sees the innuendo...
"As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste."

I can appreciate that Alex, and I too hope no offence has been caused, I missed why FB posted the sentence (iirc it was for Pad?) but despite what you say, I still believe this. Call it fate, karma, whatever.

For instance, if I hadn't had such a ste time with my ex, I wouldn't have gone to Guernsey for a year, wouldn't have ended up at Barclays as a result & wouldn't have met J who is the absolute love of my life smile

This will lead you some place good, it may take a whole, it may be that you have a hand in creating in some way the prosthetics that changes the lives for millions, who knows, but from my 43 years on this planet, I have learned that so,e good comes out of every situation, no matter how dire, eventually. Morning all.

Off on our pilgrimage to Nurburg. I hope Adenauer has arranged for some nicer weather as it's looking pretty crappy at the moment.

Morning. Today we should have a day of reflection and contemplation. Or, a day of food, drink and larking about on here. It's so hard to decide.

Jeez they go at it hard in there. I've tried humour, surrealism and old TV shows. Will they be diverted? No they won't. I even suggested the evolution of the Lotus 7 was an act of God. They were having none of it.

Morning , story so far:

3/4 of the way into my 200 mile journey, I get a phone call not to bother going as the interviewer (HR) wasn't there to see me and could it wait until after bank holiday?
Bugger ,after all the effort I put in to get there, I get this.
I was not a happy bunny.

On a lighter note, my 13 year old Golf didn't miss a beat.

And there's that why-am-I-here-exactly moment in your interview with HR when you realise the person you're speaking to has no knowledge whatsoever in the vocation, trade or calling they are interviewing you for.

Mother.

fkers.

I know you're looking for a job, but there's a good chance I'd have went ape on the phone and told them to get fked.
The air would have been blue!

However, there could have been a good reason & they let Pad know ASAP frown

Air would still be blue tho!!

How's the speech coming Doogz?
