And there's that why-am-I-here-exactly moment in your interview with HR when you realise the person you're speaking to has no knowledge whatsoever in the vocation, trade or calling they are interviewing you for.
Or with recruiters the CV they have passed on is a heavily altered version of yours or the job spec you have isn't the one the interviewer has, both have happens to me in my current job search.ali_kat said:
I can appreciate that Alex, and I too hope no offence has been caused, I missed why FB posted the sentence (iirc it was for Pad?) but despite what you say, I still believe this. Call it fate, karma, whatever.
For instance, if I hadn't had such a ste time with my ex, I wouldn't have gone to Guernsey for a year, wouldn't have ended up at Barclays as a result & wouldn't have met J who is the absolute love of my life
This will lead you some place good, it may take a whole, it may be that you have a hand in creating in some way the prosthetics that changes the lives for millions, who knows, but from my 43 years on this planet, I have learned that so,e good comes out of every situation, no matter how dire, eventually. Ax
Sure, I don't disagree with a lot of what you are saying however in your situation it does somewhat sound like you didn't lose anything you couldn't get again. I really don't mean to be insensitive and I'm not trying to belittle it, it sounds like a st situation that I hope you never have to go through again but the point is at the end of the day you could(and apparently did) get back something thats either equal or better than what you had. In my case though, there's no getting back what I lost. That's not me being down about it, it's just being realistic. Prosthetics are currently a really crappy solution and there's no indication they are suddenly going to get better anytime soon. 30-40 years time maybe, but then I might be too old to benefit, who knows.
I completely agree that good can come from any situation, but I don't think that it's ever just offered to you, unless you're insanely lucky. I see lots of good things that have come and are yet to come from my accident, but they aren't down to fate they are down to me. My life would be a disaster if I had a bad attitude, as it is my attitude has been that I WILL see the best in everything no matter what.
At the end of the day, I have lost something I can't get back no matter how hard I try. Sure I'm making the best of it but I highly doubt there will ever come a time when I don't see the accident as a bad thing anymore.
Humm, that's a bit heavy for a Friday morning, sorry all.
In other news, the folks are selling their house in Ireland. Anyone want to buy it for way more than the asking price?
Sounds like a fun night AV
I have the house to myself for an hour or so, and given that the painter actually went to the trouble of re-hanging all the pictures and mirrors before he left, my only task is to vacuum the house before putting a cd on and chilling
Hope everyone has a great day

No, I know that, and I wasn't trying to compare it in anyway to your situation or make light of what you have gone through in any way, shape or form! I was just trying to say that you don't know what the fates have in store for you yet; For instance you could pioneer new prosthetics.I completely agree that good can come from any situation, but I don't think that it's ever just offered to you, unless you're insanely lucky. Anyway - all too heavy as you say xx
For those that don't have me on FB..
Day 1 - Pink hair (12 photos)
Slight disaster, hair dye didn't take
Can't bleach my hair as it will ruin it
Spray was pink glitter, so now I look like an extra from Twilight
Tomorrow WILL be better - but I'll do an extra day to make up for it!
