Frogeye Sprite - with fore and aft sliding windows - as a learner; written off before I got my licence. FiL's really rather shagged Rover 2000, then a new Mini 1000. No electric windows until my '78 XJS in about '89.

I was thinking the same thing earlier, my little Skoda has been a brilliant first car and has been the source of many great memories over the 10,000 miles. It wasn't a car I had given much thought to until I was disappointed with the quality/condition of many Polo 9n2 but I then looked at these as an alternative. As I look back, it could have been my Fabia or a slightly newer VW Lupo 1.0l as my first steed and I am quite happy with my choice.

It has developed some minor issues in the past few weeks that bug me and with my one year anniversary approaching (with the gift of a years no-claims) my thoughts turn to potential replacements but nothing floats my boat at the moment so think I will continue with it for a while longer and get the niggled fixed - maybe look at a replacement in mid-2015.

I've never kept a car for longer than 18 months, at least I don't think I have.

The classifieds always draw me in.

Have all traces of Drain Clear gone? It was my idea and it did add some Zing! but it didn't really agree with me. On the plus side, not only did the manhole cover stop overflowing but also the punch bowl has come up lovely.

I'm pretty sure this is a fresh batch. Wasn't it the last lot that made Iva strut around half naked?
