On a boat trailer so rusty, crusty lumps with no grease. Complete strip down and shotblasted. Still kack though.

Lovely looking car, JAYB. I'd love a red TWR coupé. (One may have lived down my road when I was of an impressionable age...)

I used to see a red TWR 6.0 around, too. Lovely thing.

This would have cost more to do than an Eventer at the time. If the original owner only knew, eh?

Drum brakes!!!

Who the hell has bloody drum brakes in this day and age??

Well irked.irked
Every new Ka, all Fiestas bar the ST, all Focuses under 150PS for a start - maybe all of them bar the ST too, it's rare that I see a 1.6T 155/182PS or a 2.0D 163PS, rarer still that we sell them...

Did my Vectra have a drum/disc amalgam/witchcraft on the back or did I dream it?

That's very common/popular. The disc part is used by the calipers in the normal way when you press the brake pedal and the drum inside is for the handbrake shoes to grip when you, er, pull on your lever.

I never drive to The Rubbing House, the combination of opium and sexual exhaustion makes driving back a fool's errand.

Btw, what's The Rubbing House?

What the Dickens is going on? We pay you to pay attention to what's going on here.

An open invitation to TTers far and wide to have a real/virtual drink up on Wednesday evening drew Battyfine to show herself on condition she chose the venue. Thus it came to pass that the venue for the "real" element of the TT drink up on Wednesday in Surrey is to be the Rubbing House in Epsom.

http://www.rubbinghouse.com/

The "virtual" contingent can be wherever they please but can link with us via the plethora of personal communication devices.

Following a mix up, the TT Suite at the Dorchester is unavailable this week, so I have booked a room at the Tolworth Travelodge and will be travelling from there by Hansom Cab to Epsom. I would gladly share. If that helps. There is a Railway Station at Tolworth, I understand.

I do what I can, pad. Will you be there virtually on Wednesday? You're welcome to be there really but there are distances involved.
